Dear Sir,

I am from Thiruvottriyur and the EB office is in Jothi Nagar. There is a persistent issue in my area that the cable usually short circuits and prolonged power cut is there, whenever they come to service we have to buy a cable for the entire street ( contributed by all in the street) 500 rs each house, the service men says if we dont give money they will not service moreover there are many cable trees on the streets which is risking many children play in that area.

This is issue is there for long now it is more than enough, please take action on the same EB staff in that area and rectify our problem permanently.

    i reside in madipakkam. we got separate SP connection in aug 10 and the department did not provide with reading card for months together inspite of running to the office for 3-4 times. the card was given in Jan 11 and they charged min billing for that month. Now in Feb 11 month reading they charged all these 4 months in one go and resulting the slab exceeding 600 units, the amount billed become huge and unbearable to a common man. Is there a provision to rectify this.

    can some one guide me, how to take this legally. the bill for the month of Feb11 is nearly Rs.4000/- which is close to our annual billing. problem is departments' and the penality is for us.. eagerly await to proceed this complaint..

      Do i need to specify any bloody thing here other than those cutting the power supply each day any time they desire for NO REASON whatsoever.(Note):They are already stopping the power supply every day for 2 hours to save electricity or whatever,then why in the blue blazes would they stop the power supply every now and then per day and for what moronic reason????only god knows.In any case I am really pissed with these guys coz whenever i have some free time i decide to write(burn) something(in PC DVD)not only once but twice they cut the power retards{I lost 2 DVD's coz of this, not much i know still i payed the money and wasted my time which they cannot give me back}and many more unpleasant stuff i wanna say about them here which unfortunately i dont have the time for it.Ladies and gentlemen and all others who are currently reading this u tell me if these guys should be given some kinda punishment or not or whatever is it they should be getting for making us go through this whole ordeal every single day(In other words doing something about their ultimate technique of CUTTING OF THE POWER SUPPLY any time they wish).DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!

      I do feel bad for the inappropriate words used in the complaint above [TNEB - Nagercoil ], but i totally agree with this person. This is not just about his CDs but this is major disturbance. They take the power off from 9 AM -12 PM, then from 3PM - 6PM and again from 9 PM to some time around 11:30, 12 AM then as of yesterday (17/2/2012) later in the night around 3 times the power went for more than an hour. This is insane. we pay money, we understand the crisis but isn't electricity and water one of the basic necessity of living ? nobody is asking for luxury but this is inhuman of the government to allow this atrocity. always remember the upper class people who spend so much electricity can afford a 24 hr back up power supply or invertors even now, Its the lower and middle class people you are putting through so much. Atleast have a heart and let people relax on a sunday, come on.. one day in a week people get to do that, with their family after such a long week. Government has to do something, this is like slapping the people on their face for letting them win attitude.
      I strongly agree. I'm from Ambattur. For the past two days they cut the routine 2 hours and additionally kept calling out 7 to 8 times a day. I guess TNEB is all [censored]ed and got their u****s in a twist. These are really getting on our nerves. Especially in our holidays. These guys at TNEB are so full of s**t coz they can't utilize any free power mother nature has granted us (wind & sun). They are just so worried about damn elections and frickin politics. And all what the government does is gobble our money like filthy pigs. They just don't utilize it right.
      Well. . He complained about it in 2011. . And, there seems to be no change. - _ -
      Seriously, this is just so [censored]ing frustrating. No wonder india is called the developing country. If this is the case, then it's gonna remain a developing country till the end of time. Really, thank you for all your goddamn powercuts. I really hope whomever is responsible for this / involved in this , rots in hell. I know this isn't gonna change anything. . But if anyone responsible for this is reading this right now. . [censored] you.

        An Electric Transformer has been installed illegally and inspite of raising an objection to it the moment the poles were erected in our land with Survey # 664 in Sathghur (Hamlet of Pernambut Village, Gudiyattam Taluk, Vellore District in Tamil Nadu).

        Few years ago poles were erected in our land and I had raised an objection to it, when I met in person by producing my land documents/patta with the concerned officer Tamil Nadu Electricity Board at Pernambut Village, he promised me that without my concern he would not install the Electric TRANSFORMER. He also gave me verbal assurances that the poles would be removed from that place since we have an objection to it. The poles remained at the same place for years with any further move.

        Unfortunately we noticed that the TRANSFORMER has been installed on South West which is a junction of two roads which connecting to the state Highway, when we visited last month. Since I work at an MNC at Bangalore and I cannot visit often to this place. Taking this advantage the TRANSFORMER has been installed without our consent.

        Why did TNEB install Electric TRANSFORMER in our land by trespassing (breaking the barbed fence wire & I am not sure who cut this fence) when there is ample space in and around our land?

        We also offered a different spot for the same, but why did the TNEB Pernambut officer didn’t oblige to our request inspite of objections?

        Please note that we had raised an objection at the first instance when the poles were erected and except verbal assurances the officer didn’t oblige to our requests.

        I request the TNEB to Kindly do the needful by removing/shifting this transformer at earliest.

          I have 2 TNEB Lines

          1.That EB Line was registered by My Grand Father Name but he past away.(i dont Have any recorded)

          2.we have one more line for business(Shop) also EB Bill did not pay last 10 Years this line was registered my Fathers Name.(I have Death & varesu Certificate)if i take this line possible to Business line to House Line.


          Which line i can take easy to active and how long it will take time.

          I am paying the EB bill for the last one year through online. But this month, they have disconnect i.e., removed Fuse from the home. Now they are asking Rs. 1200 to connect Fuse.

          1. Our grandfather has registered a EB line. He passed away. His 4 children's used that EB line. Now because of misunderstanding they want to separate the EB connection for four people.
          Is there any option available to use a one conection for multiple? If it is not, is there any solution available for them?.

            Dear Sir / Madam,

            Electricity board timings of KK nagar, Chennai branch are from 8.30 AM to 12.30 PM & 1.30 PM to 2.30PM. But when I went to pay the bill by 2 noon, they were reluctant to take the bill saying that they are closed for the day. But they are supposed to open the counters till 2.30PM. Moreover they are using abusive words and giving reluctant answers if I insist them to take the bill as it was not 2.30 PM yet. and operating only 1 out of 7 counters. It is totally unacceptable and they should respect the consumers and deliver their job properly. I request you to take an action on this.

                  I am living in kattur, During our construction the EB department officials from AE(Ponnappan) to office peon bought bribe . For even a single connection ,they bought bribe around Rs2000/-, actual amount Rs1550, but they received Rs 2500 + rs 1000 extra. For 3 phase connection actual amount is RS 10500, but they demanded Rs17500/-.
                  For last few months the EB meter got repaired we made a complaint but they delayed pick up the meter...

                  This complaint is to be directed to the Tamilnadu Electricity Board responsible for supply and maintenance of power to South Sivankoil street, Vadapalani, Chennai- 600026.

                  This complaint is to bring to the notice to the consumer court that a small pocket consiting of close to 25 households after Police Quarters to Navin's flats in South Sivankoil street are facing power outage every night for the past 6-7 months. This outage remains unattended for close to 3-4 hours till representatives from our area go and literally beg the night in charge personnel for service, which usually happens after 1 hour close after we approach him.

                  The same personnel directed us to write to the AE of the TNEB board of the area and on doing so promised to give a permanent fix to the problem. We have given the letter to the AE but no action has been taken on this and till yesterday we faced the problem and surely expect this to happen today too.

                  As a result of this, my mother has got malaria due to mosquito bites and our AC, TV and PC UPS have suffered severe damages due to fluctuating power in the night times for the past 6-7 months. This is the same for all the house-holds in the area and this has been thouroughly neglected by TNEB without any attention.

                  I kindly request the Consumer court to direct TNEB to get a permanent fix to the solution and also pay us up with a decent compensation for all our sufferings, indifference by TNEB all this time, our agony and our time spent on this. The time wasted also includes the day lag in the next day caused due to disturbed sleep every night.

                      We are staying in rajarajan nagar, always there is power fluctuations, suddenly the voltage drops down and suddenly the voltage shoots up. Most of the time there is a voltage drop and during nights unable to sleep, the electronic equipments are getting spoiled due to the power fluctuation. Please find ways to get rid of this power fluctuations in our area.
                      I am also a resident of Rajarajan Nagar, Jaganathan said it all. I am just providing a comment here to strengthen the complaint.

                      I have seen voltage fluctuate low as 110-120 and max up to 250 volts.

                      Request to provide the residents with the required electricity essentials please.

                        Today 12th oct, we don't Have power supply IN SAIDAPET for whole night. EB PERSONS GIVEN CONNECTIONS ONLY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE GIVEN ...........Our two houses only left without power supply. reasons told by EB PERSON AND ALSO JE IS '' THEY DON'T HAVE WIRE TO CONNECT THE FUSE''.

                        IT Seems EB has suffering from poor fund to buy even wires. can goven will accept if we are not paying EB BILL FOR ONE DAY.

                        We are the residents of Sankarapuram 2nd Street, Palavakkam, Chennai – 600041, here we are facing low voltage and frequent fluctuation in current for many many months. In spite of giving repeated complaints to the Electricity Board this problem is not rectified. Even the most commonly used electric equipments which are mandatory are not functional, we are running without water for days together as the motor pump is not working due to low voltage. We were earlier informed that the problem is due to our house being towards the end of distribution of power from the transformer which is quite a distance from our area, we were also informed that two new transformers have been allotted for our area whereas now after 5-6 months have passed but no sign of any improvement in fact the situation has worsened. Because of this issue, we do not even get the benefits of electrical equipments such as AC/Fridge/Washing machine on time, especially during these peak summer months. Families with infants and elders who are bed ridden are the most affected. It is our request that this matter be given some importance and looked into.

                          1.My Meter Reading Needs to be Rechecked

                          2.My Previous Meter reading mentioned was 1000, units used is 310 (Bill Amount isRs.546) Here the reading may be 18000/19000. It may be wrongly taken as 1000.

                          3.Current Meter reading taken as 2350,
                          units mentioned is 1350 (Bill Amount is Rs.4158)

                          4.There is a huge difference in meter reading and the amount between last two readings.

                          Kindly recheck the entries and the meter for exact payments to be done.

                            Dear Sir,
                            I have requested 3phase connection to TNEB Somangalam division (near Kundrathur,chennai) on 20thAug'10. Still yet to receive my 3phase meter.
                            On 22thAug'10 an electrician came and connected a temporary wires to arrange power to my house. After then I called to A.E. Mr. Nambirajan ([protected]) on 25thAug'10 and requested him to provide 3phase connection with EB card. But he used to say they will be doing it soon. But no actions so far.
                            Now it is more than a month, I am yet to receive 3phase service to my house. This is annoying and I am in mental pressure because of TNEB service.
                            Requesting you to take action for having my 3phase meter installed.

                            Till 15 th no one came for EB office to take reading.I went EB office and spent three hours to update EB reading and confimred from EB official i can pay bill through online. When i checked thorugh online it says meter reading is not updated. When i called EB office they said i have to come personly to pay the bill..
                            monthly maintenance is not doing correct so daily disturbence power supply HT LINE FROM KADAMBULIUR TO NADUKUPPAM take necessary action immediatly
                            I forgot to update my residential address.

                                I am a consumer with TNEB with consumer ID[protected].

                                The assessment which was done on 4/09/2010 (4th September) for this ID , showed that the Power Consumption was 530 UNITS which amounts to Rs.966/- to be paid.
                                I have issued a cheque for payment. But after 15 days from the date of assessment the cheque was returned to me saying that the meter reading was 1360 units and the
                                amount was Ra.4198/-. The meter reading white card was also corrected to that effect. When I approached the Assistant Engineer, TNEB, Selaiyur, Chennai-73, I was
                                informed that there has been an error while feeding the figure online. When asked to revert the entry in co ordination with the Accounts Wing of TNEB, I was informed that
                                it is not possible after 6 days from the assessment date. Hence, I should pay only the corrected amount which is exorbitantly high and wrong because my actual amount
                                is only Rs.966/- . More over, there will not be any reading written in my card until the amount gets adjusted and additionally I will have to pay Rs.40/- against the future bills
                                till the amount is adjusted. When I asked for a commitment of the EB authority in writing, the A.E refused to give that.

                                NOW, I HAVE BEEN FORCED TO MAKE A PAYMENT OF RS.4198/- IN STEAD OF RS.966/- WHICH IS RS.3232/- IN EXCESS OTHER WISE MY POWER CONNECTION
                                WILL BE CUT. BY CHS256AR1Q207 DATED 18.09.20100 WITH RECEIPT SERIAL NO.09AAA400C AND 1135450.AND IF I HAVE TO PAY RS.40/- PER BILL(I DONT KNOW
                                HOW MANY BILLS), I WILL BE PAYING EXCESS AGAIN. IS IT A PENALTY FOR ME FOR THE MISTAKE DONE BY YOUR STAFF?

                                It is shocking that a consumer is penalised for the mistake done by your staff and is threatened of disconnection if it is not paid.

                                How can a consumer be held responsible for a human error happening at the TNEB office?

                                Sir, now I request that a written assurance may be given to me by the EB authorities on the following points.

                                1. That this adjustment be done in the amount paid right from the next bill until the whole amount is fully adjusted.

                                2. That the tariff is rightly applied within the limit of average of 600 units per bill @ the maximum of Rs,2.20 per unit, and not with the
                                higher tariff which is applicable for units beyond 600 @ Rs.4.00 and above. (Because my average reading has always been within 600 units)
                                It may be ensured that my actual reading amount and the minimum of Rs.40/- to be deducted from the prepaid amount.

                                3. That the correction done in my white card to be regularised when the amount reaches the amount I have paid.

                                Hence, I request your kind intervention in the matter and retrieve my grievance. Kindly report compliance.

                                it always happen with tneb and the final suferer is the poor customer.all our bill payment system should be foolproof at this computer age and the consumer should be treated well instead axing the power.
                                Sir, my friend working in mnc company at ekkaduthangal near guindy. they used sum CT service, every month crossed the maximum demand but bill payment is below the maximum demand amount. they mmc company give sum amount to tneb reading taker ( accesser ), the accesser note the eb reading is below the maximum level. the mnc company and accesser both are understanting. the same process are going lost 3 months.pls check it and to something. this month also same process is going on. today also take the eb reading.this time also i think they pay less amount?. pls take the action immediately.

                                    We are facing frequent power cuts for this particual area (The particular phase
                                    and Line).This has been brought to the notice of the concerned departments
                                    for the necessary action several times.As we are tenant the concerned department people are asking the owner of house to give complaint.
                                    Even when we approach for the complaint the response is harsh.The concernd
                                    Engineer who is responsible for the area never lifts the call or never responds
                                    for the problem.
                                    I kindly request you take necessary action for the frequency power failure
                                    The reason they are telling is over load why don't they take intiative to split the loads on other.The other line never occurs a power failure, becuase one of the local politician is there

                                    Tamilnadu Electricity Board - Power failure — POWER FAILURE

                                    We experience frequent Power failures in K.K.Nagar, First Sector daily for the past one week. I happens during the night and lasts for about 3 to 4 hours. The response from the authorities is very poor, infact on 18th Aprill at 8.00pm the power went off and when we came to know that the the ground staff do not have posses Fuse wire. One more aspect which astonished us was one of the staff inside the sub station was sleeping soundly and we even took some photographs. The photos will be sent to you in the next mail.

                                    The authorities are requested to take serious note of this matter and restore power supply to our area. Also ensure that the staff are not negligent in their duty.

                                    posting here and all is a waste of time man..do u think tht they gonna take action..these will do nothing..for the past four years, there is a current cut problem..but no politician came front to take action.all are stupid irresposible fellows..did there any government require more than 5yrs to solve current problem, but india will do..i hate to be indian citizen..i am getting height of tension towards this government...if i know how to made guns and bomb means, i will kill each and every politician in india...even in 2300 india wont converted into developed country..even at 2500 it will be just developing country...i hate india.and bleddy indian governent..uneducated politicians...
                                    From tamilnadu only current was going to nearby states. But in tamilnadu daily they are switch off the current for more than 5hours in all the districts.How internet centres, offices and shops will run..This problem is going on for more than 4 years.When it will going to end.What ever the problem may be, it requires just one or two years to solve.but here none of the is taking responsible for the current loss. The basic standard of life was getting shaken in tamilnadu because of heavy current loss.I[censored] people having power means, bring a change.or i[censored] people also working for black money means, simply delete this post..But i am sure about one thing, india wont change into a developed country like U.S even in 2200..It will be a country for illegal politians only.The stupid indian government and irresponsible state government..
