The meter provided at our rented-residence, is not working for the past 9 months.I have given written complaints 9 months ago.

And every 2 months, a TNEB lady writes down the average meter reading.

Last month end 28th Aug08' I was very much fed up and went to the TNEB office in Ambattur. Only then I came to know about a complaint notebook, and I made a entry. And I was informed a telephone no. and contact person for the complaint..also stating that I will get the issue solved within a day & ask me to call them if nobody showed up.

It was 4 pm, next day and still no one...so I made a call and asked for the person(as stated above)..

There was a harsh response...

You made the complaint yesterday only, wait for some more time...


And today is 15th sep, still no response..

What should I do...now.

    I'm residing on Vandikaaran street, Maduvankarai, Guindy. Here power is shutdown for 3 hours, i.e. from 10 to 12 in the morning and 6-7 in the evening, whereas in the Alwarpet area (near park sheraton hotel), power is not shutdown even for 1 hour. Why this disparity? When they shut down for 3 hours in Alandur Municipality, why not they do it everywhere equally. When I called the TNEB offices, I was informed that they get pressure from the higher authorities and also from Ministry level. When I also pay tax why my children should suffer during study hours i.e. 6-7. I put a request to so many people. No response. I request the concerned authorities to look into it and at least change the timings of power shutdown, so that children's study doesn't get disturbed.

      Hi,
      I am the resident of 3, Ashtabujam first lane, choolai, chennai -112. For our house, the EB connection is given from opposite house by the wire given by us. We asked for permanent solution since this problem is related to cable fault laid by TNEB for the last 6 months. Today they came and asked us Rs.3000/- for changing the cable and for labour work. They didn't give bill for this also. Please suggest me whom to send my complaint. Do we have to pay for this repair or EB should take care?

      My resident is in chidamabarm. manalur sc no. 588.Since last two months no rep. from TNEB for calculate the bill charges came and we informed many times to the office but no response.how we can make the payment to know?Sometimes they ask to pay the same amt of previous month and if pay extra for this month will they recover for next month?.

      iam sudhakar from kuruvikkarambai I have a complaint against people misusing the power that the government giving free electric power for poor people (SINGLE LIGHT SYSTERM) .the government says they can eligible for using a single light only. but many people surround my village specially karambakkadu they are using more then a light, television, iron box, HI FI sound system and many equipments. Consuming more than 300 kilowatt per month per one connection. They never switch off the lights because they don't want to pay anything.
      So please take necessary action.

      My Eb card no is[protected] last before year 2008 we had a problem still not rectified the problem started like we change the line to Domestic to commercial for that they ask Rs.1500 they told tariff changed we also paid, next meter was not working so we complaint once again he collected 9500Rs so total amount rs.11000 he said at present no stock of meter you should wait so you should pay average amount as 6060 month left year left they telling still meter no stock then i came to know that i what i paid amount of rs 1500+ 9500 was billed as 40rs he taken the money so i contact eb office regarding this they told he was transfer d so we need to pay once again for tariff change and other charges, what is this where i want to complaint i cant understand . please do something for this .. or i need a solution for this

But they not till given the connection every time i go to e.b. they telling that meter is no stock the person need some money to give the connection.I condem these things.       Hi I am resident of Anna nagar...the EB officials asked us to change our house connection from residential to commercial as we are running a paying guest accommodation in one of the floor...we have submitted the application and the deposit for the same, The officials did not attend to the application for the past 1 year, though we were checking with the status with them every now and then...they did not give us an confirmation for the receipt of the application as well...one fine day they came for inspection and charged us Rs. 50, 000/- for not changing the line to commercial. The subordinates are confirming that they had given it to superior incharge, while that person did not agree...and acted as if she has not seen such an application and charged us Rs. 50, 000/- fine...it was really disappointing as it was a penalty for the government officials mismanagement of not having proper procedures in place. We couldn’t do anything as we do not have the receipt for submitting the application form...

      hello sir, sorry to say this we are living in india. this is the procedure in our government office. what we can do as a normal man, so if you are ready just follow these kind of rules. it is my experience too.
      I am Rajesh Kumar residing at Madipakkam, Ram Nagar South, Chartered Accountant by profession.There was more consumption in the past where my slab gone to more than 500 units. We had take lot measures to keep the consumption below 500 units for two months (60 days) and achieved the same. (8units per day, 480 units). The issue now is I am charged with > 500 units slab due to delay in reading. My last reading date was 25th July 2012 and current reading date was 27th Sep 2012 which is 64 days. The reading unit on 27th Sep 2012 is 510 units. Who will bare the additional cost due to delay in reading. I got penalised for approx Rs.550/- for keeping the units below 500 for 60 days. I went to the Madipakkam EB office today 12th Oct'12 and asked the respective authority, the were laughing that Sir only 10 units and 2 days (but actualy 4 days, ie they musthave taken reading on 24th Sep'12), and said nothing can be done, we will take before of after 5 days of the reading date and not accepted my complaint form. I was just running here and there. Rs.500/- which I can bare, but we can not accept this without any valid reason. It is shame that I am unable to get any feedback from the department as a consumer. I would like to know the process of taking reading since the rates are based on SLABs, and the salab must be based on the number of days used, what is the number of days for 500 units?
      Pl advice, I am unable to tollarate this since we had taken lot of initiatives to save power.

        there was power shutdown in my area very frequently and they give some line connection temporiarly (mainly during sundays ) during night hours.though they give such connections they get the wire needed from the residenciers itself, but one night when i called the eb to give such connection where the connections have been already given to our neighbours they asked me to provide wire since no one was there in my home to get the wire i requested the eb person to get the needed wire for which i would pay but the eb person said me that they will not help me untill i get the wire by myself even they cut my call while i was speaking . i feel they were so irresponsible to get a lady helped in such bad situation.

        I remitted amount to TNEB for Electricity new domestic connection on 10.07.2008 as per receipt (07 E No.313797)
        of Rs. 1550/-.

        Till the date they said that due to the shortage of pole, they are not giving the EB connection to my house.

        I need a speed solution from TNEB, please do the needful
        I placed a complaint on 28/05/09 at 11 A.M that One Phase is cut No body attended to the problem till
        1:30 p.m Only when i went to the E.B office at COLLAGE ROAD and brought the person and payed Rs.100/- to do the work.And again after 5 Minutes the power got cut when again complaint At 2:15 p.m at Nungambakkam E.B office nobody has attended till 5:35 P.M the Problem as till when asked for when we spoke to the A.D of the region insted of asking sorry and solving the problem has stated that he is going to creat even more problems to us and has even stated that he is going to take action on us.If this statement said by the A.d Is wrong please take Proper action
        We are living in Shenoy Nagar Arunachalam Street (behind Pachaiyappas Collage).
        The past 2months we have one phase problem in our street. I have complaint several times to the AE No; [protected] to rectify this problem permanently, because we are getting power failure frequently only after 10PM.

        Yesterday power got failure same time. I have complaint the following numbers,
        26414398, 26421343, [protected], [protected].
        The above numbers I have called and followed for the rectification status up to early morning 2PM. We got power supply only at 2PM. We are having 2kids at home. We were out of our home till early morning 2PM. Since we are paying 4rupees per unit to our house owner.

        I request you to sort out this issue permanently in our street. I believe you will take necessary action against this complaint.

        Ref: This is with reference to the email dated April-18th 2008.

        I would like to bring to you kind notice that even after writing to TNEB
        Regarding the hardship we face in our locality due to regular power failure no action has been initiated so far.And as usual we are having frequent power failures in our street, everyday atleast
        3 to 4 times the power goes off. When we try to call the local TNEB
        office in sembium – perambur, nobody picks the call and this has become a routine now for the past one and a half year.

        I have also personally handed over a letter the to JE regarding the same and no action
        has been initiated so far in this regard and our suffering is increasing day-by-day.

        My father being a heart patient and he is finding it very difficult in this hot summer
        because of this frequent power failures in our area.

        I request you to kindly look into this and do the needful at the earliest.

        Hi,

        I live in 13B/30, kaveri salai 2nd cross st, Kodungaiyur. We live in a rented house where there is only single phase. We have the problem of frequent power cut and voltage fluctuation. When we contact the Sembiam EB during power failure the call is always in bus yor it is temporarily out of service. However if they pick the call they treat us so badly as though we are their servants. We have power cuts mostly after 9:00 PM. When we ask them the reason for power cut they will say as cable problem, and we would have the same cable problem more than 3 or 4 times a week. I doubt weather that is the reason, if that is the reason what is the standard of hte cable they use?? This the fate of a citizen of a democratic country. Hope atleast this would be looked into before being ignored.

        In spite of several oral complaints, we the residents of 13th MAIN ROAD VIJAYANAGAR and 6th CROSS STREET, face REGULAR POWER FLUCTUATION in our area and also LOW POWER due which the ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT'S get damaged. It is mainly due to heavy load on the line due to the upcoming apartments and houses . Hence this needs an immediate attention, and provide the area near the 13th MAIN ROAD and 6th CROSS STREET a TRANSFORMER to check the LOW POWER and FLUCTUATION.

          frequent power supply cut

          illegal disconnection of electricity

          I have just applied using the right to information act, 2005 by which i think i could get justice...

          Dear sir,

          we are staying in pozhichalur, pereri Amman Koil Street, here the main line wire is in a dangerous possition, anytime it ll cut and affect to the people.
          already we complaint (oral) to the service man and the officer of this pammal branch, but no response from them & still they didnt take any action against for this problem.
          let us give proper feedback and take action for this...

            Name Transfer

            I have bought a second hand flat and i am trying to do the name transfer there is no proper answer from the concerned employee. Also they are looking for name transfer from Corporation. I dont really understand what is the need to have corporation. I have my sale deed and will that not enough.....

            Tamil Nadu Electricity Boards wrong meter reading

            Dear sir/madam,

            I N.V. Jaganathan, residing at 3/319, 1st floor, 13th street koratur chennai 80. This is regarding the EB person wrote down wrong advance meter reading number which has not come yet and mentioned to pay advance amount and disconnected for nonpayment this happening second time mentioning the same meter reading and to pay minimum amount.

            Please kindly let me what action can be taken. it is totally...
