TASMAC Complaints & Reviews

Please shift the TASMAC (Shop No: 9099) shop to some other area as it is situated at the main Bazaar. This is causing a lot of trouble to all people; ladies, office goers, residents, school going children.

This TASMAC lies close to many residences, hospital, church https://mail.google.com/mail/?shva=1#drafts/13b22d911699d91e (the pentecostal mission) and bank.(indian bank)

Many of the people who come here to this TASMAC keep fighting, use foul language and tease the passerby and ladies too. There are also constantly two or three people who are completely drunk and are lying down on the streets. They constantly litter the area and throw their bottles and used cups in front of our houses and church. This is becoming a very great Public nuisance and most of our families and friends are scared to pass-by this shop.

In view of our community living peacefully and for us to also provide a better example to our children we request you to have the TASMAC (Shop No: 9099) shifted to a different location.

There are 3 Tasmac Shops within a distance of 50mts from each other on Perambur High Road just opposite to the Perambur Railway Station, Perambur, Chennai. The visitors to these joints use the nearby lanes to park their vehicles, consume liquor and also to Urinate.

Our grievances & Suggestions:

1. Haphazard Parking: Vehicles ( Mostly Two Wheelers and Auto Rickshaws are parked in a very haphazard manner in the entrance to the Streets and also in front of our Gates. In the event of an emergency we are unable to call in an Ambulance or even Drive our Cars out of our Garages.

Suggestion : The Tasmac shops or Bars should provide sufficient Parking space for their customers.

2. Illegal Activities: All forms of illegal activities happen in this neighborhood. Residents of the locality are being threatened when they stand in their balconys or the entrance of the house in the evenings. Its becoming a nightmare for the residents especially Ladies, Children and Sr. Citizens to step out of their houses in the evenings.

Suggestion : Police Patrol which Frequents the Perambur High Road in the Evenings should be asked to visit the nearby lanes and ensure the anti social elements are kept at bay.

- Most of the shops have only one Toilet... when there are thousands of customers thronging the place, why is it that no action is being taken to ensure necessary infrastructure is in place. Most of the visitors use the Perambur High Road and also the adjoining lanes to Urinate and this is causing a lot of Health Issues to the Residents. When we are given to believe that a lot of Revenue is being generated by Tasmac which is owned by the Government, how come there is no motivation to provide clean, safe and healthy facilities for their customers.

Suggestion : Sufficient number of Clean Toilets need to be provided within the Bar Premises

- When there are Bars which have been opened for Consumers to have a Drink in Privacy, how come the enforcement agencies are turning a blind eye and allowing the Drinking in Public Spaces.... Are we to believe that "While smoking in Public is an offence, for Tamilnadu, Drinking in Public is Permitted" because it turns out a lot of Revenue to the Government.

Suggestion : Enforce Strict Laws to Prohibit Consumption of Liquor in Public Spaces... or.... Close down the Bars and get the customers to Buy the Liquor from the Shops and go and drink in their Homes.

- Once the shops close in the night around 2230hrs, the bar attenders start playing loud music and at times this extends up to 01.00 to 02.00hrs in the morning...

Suggestion : The Bar Timings should be strictly enforced failing which the Licence to Operate should be Cancelled and the Shop violating the rules should be Shut Down without any delay.

Request the senior officials from the enforcement authorities to inspect all areas in the night and ascertain to them self if they will be willing to put up with such living conditions.

Will concerned authorities take note of the situation and try to impose penalties on offenders or improve the conditions in the Bars to save the Residents in the Neighborhood of the troubles. If they are not able to do any of these, it would be best to close down the Tasmac Outlets and Ban Consumption of Liquor in the interest of the Citizens.

I live in locality called as Ganesh Nagar, which is in Guindy a suburb of Chennai. A TASMAC retail outlet has been running in Nethaji Street of Ganesh Nagar (shop no.692) for several years and I am fighting for the past few years to shift the outlet to any commercial place. The present place is a residential locality and has schools, temples and even a noon meal centre run by the state Government which is hardly 50 Mtrs from the outlet. Repeated complaints to the authorities have fallen on deaf ears and the Govenment is looking into the revenue generation from the shop alone. There is huge hardship and inconvenience to the residents of the locality because of the liquor shop. People cannot walk the streets after nightfall for fear of drunkards and rowdy elements. Women are most inconvenienced and the State CM herself being a woman it was expected that she would pass orders to re site the retail shop to a commercial locality, but the online petition has been rejected stating that the shop is functioning as per retail vending rules, much to the hardship and the suffering of the people of the locality. The person who runs the bar is the local MLA which adds to our woes.

in chennai ..especially kotturpuram (kottur) near adyar... they are selling duplicate product . They say they have only one brand and its 20 rs more than MRP also only 1/4 available... no half or full available ... but many peoples are rushing to buy here .. please take necessary step .. atleast the product be ORIGINAL

I am living in Medavakam, Chennai. The TASMAC shop in this area are charging Rs.20 extra than MRP price. If we ask, "why we need to give more money". They are using the horse words and threatening us. I request you to take action against it else please let me know the way to take action againist these kind of corruption. We work hard to earn money. Why we need to pay a extra amount than MRP to this stupid guys unnecessarily.

There is a TASMAC shop near(within 50 Meters) to the Government Arts College, Four Roads Mettur dam. As per the Rule 8 of the Tamil Nadu Liquor Retail Vending (in shops and bars) Rules, 2003, the liquor shops should not be established within a distance of 50 metres from places of worship and educational institutions in Municipal Corporations and Municipalities and within a distance of 100 metres in other areas.

The tasmac shop which is located in P.N ROAD SHOP NO 2208.. Is charging more than the actual price from rs.10-150 for some selected brand of alcohol for which the customer is favoring for...and using flothical languange that hurts the customer hearts.. take necessary actions and punish them severely according to law.

We are the citizens of salem experience a difficulty with a tasmac wine shop no. 7124 regarding the rates what they selling.

The shop locates at shanmuga nagar near dadagapatti periyar colony.

As per the revised tariff the BEER RATE OF KING FISHER SUPER STRONG IS Rs.80/-, but in the shop they are collecting Rs.90/- and cheating all the peoples.

Kindly look into this matter and do the needful sir.

I live at Velecherry and had beers (British Empire) at Tasmac a/c bar shop no 928. we have paid 125/- for each beer and sitting harges of 50/- per head and despit of that we have asked why the beer is too costly and they have started man handling and then we found itis rediculous to be thereat Tasmac Bar. When we asked for the management the total bar tenderes are on us with the sticks to beat us. This is an open cheating market of TASMAC. If some one can take action on these kind of one pr two bars by closing them then automotically the price can be monitered and the man handling can be reduced. Really the TASMAC shop NO. 928 are the worst Bar I have seen in Chennai.

There is a TASMAC located in Mettukuppam, Nerkundram which is very near to the M.R. Matriculatoin school. All the School children has to cross the Wineshop to reach the school and Mothers taking her children are feeling very difficulty and shame while crossing the TASMAC. Either TASMAC has to be removed or it has to be moved far from the School zone. After 5 or 6 PM children has to cross the Wineshop to reach Tuition and Ladies not able to walk and cross the road, it is very very annoying keeping the TASMAC near residential and particularly in School Zone, Hope someone will read and take action.

Today I purchased British Empire (750ml) from Tasmac (Near Railway station, shop# 3497) in Erode and paid Rs.600 (MRP. Rs.595) but when I requested for balance of Rs. 5, he ignored and when asked again, he started using all kind of filthy & bad words. He seem not to care, even after me warning about complaining him. He also said, "Let me see how you get British Empire next time". This is not the only time, such scenario is happening... Everytime, he says "No change" but this time I gave Rs.5 change and he boldly said "we give only for Rs.600) and exceeded his limit. Hope necessary action will be taken against him, so that it doesn't happen in the future.

Please note iam from Kerala and in our state also the distillery is of Govt, but there is no bar attached, but in TN the facility is there which is good enough when compare to the PVT Bar which is 3 times expensive, but in Kerala we are having good facility in Pvt Bar where we have to pay 1-1/4 price with good seating and food.we are sure that Kerala and TN Govt is making good money out of the beverage shops, but the people deployed in Kerala are Polite when compare to TN (TASMAC) they just think and talk like the Minister or collector of that shop as they are use to it, and they do not have good manners to speak with a good person (might the path of minister or Collector or other GOVT Servants can not explain all here) so please look into the same and try to avoid all these kind of problems where at least other state personals are not sufferer, and also helps to keep up the good name of TN. the Same is happening in Chennai and lot of other places because the personals working in this shop and the attached bar owners are from the ruling or opposition government, and they try to show their power to the poor people or the outsider which is not considerable, if it is going like that and no action from the GOVT then people will take their own action which will lead a bad name to the Ruling and Opposition GOVT as well to the TASMAC handling Personals.

Not only in that branch. every where in chennai. Please take necessary action.

This is very important complaint for last 5years nobody can take action. the tasamac ( Wine Shop No 183)
the shop wil be high road near by school, bus stop, and temple, most important the opp street will use ni bar nobady
can walk the ladys Children go on a street very bad condision. the drinker hangover and use urin motion can use street, pl take action as soon as bossible. please.

The employees of the tasmac in kelambakkam are charging more than the MRP for every bottle that is sold. for a quarter bottle 2 Rs and for half bottle 5 Rs and for full bottle 10 Rs. When asked for bill they refuse to give it and challenge us to do whatever we can. when asked for the correct balance amount they threaten the customer(me) who asks. Kindly do the needful.

There is a TASMAC outlet situated near the corner of Armenian Street and Post Office Street in Parrys area in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. As this area has a lot of residences and commercial establishments, the people frequenting this TASMAC cause a lot of nuisance during day and night. Everynight after seven p.m. people (mainly rowdies) buy drinks from this outlet and come and drink below our residences thus causing great embarrassment to us and our family. As the people living in these residences are very low-profile and fear a backlash from the TASMAC landlord they fear to complain. It is my request that action be taken and this TASMAC outlet be closed down in the interest of the welfare of the residents.

I Purchased a King Fisher Strong beer the MRP written-ed was 75 Rs. But the employee of the shop was demanding me to pay 10 more rupees . If not means asking us to leave the bar. The formed one union If any the makes the call to the union not for the Control room(Police) . And they says we stop the sales( they says we are govt staff we can do any thing in Chennai . we got a union.) What and how i need to face this can anything. How to take action abt them..

We are living more than 2000 peoples around the areas Ananthapuri Nagar, Sagunthala Nagar,Selva Ganapathi Nagar,VGN Nagar,VGN Nagar Extn and Thulasi Nagar under Senneerkumpam panchayat, Kumnanchavadi(near EVP Complex), Poonamallee Taluk, Thiruvallur Dist. (chennai-56).

We using the Ananthapuri Nagar Main Road (Which is Parlel to EVP COMPLEX ) to reach Kumananchavadi Bus stop, Sri Ramachandra Hospital, Mangadu temples and Many Schools. Some of the person relative to Politician is commencing the Wine Shop BAR in that way, because of that we are in unsafe, particularly for our kids and women, so we are kindly request you, please take an action to prevent from opening the BAR on the way. Please Take Action before occur any unlike Incident. Please treat this in high priority and help us.

Today, 01/10/2011, I purchased a liquor bottle (Manshion House Brandy 750 ml, batch number on the bottle is[protected].) from an outlet in Avadi, Seekadu, shop # BN/1040-15/09/2011. The sales man charged me 360, but the MRP on the bottle is 345, when asked he started speaking in bad language. When asked for a bill he said, this is not your grandfather's shop to give bill. You complain any where, even the minister cannot take action on me. I wanted to go to the police or pull him to court, but without a bill helpless. This is the state of many costumers, getting cheated right under your one nose. Is drinking liquor is a crime where you have to bribe some to get the stuff. When the government is selling it is, is it not legal ? Then why should we pay more.

Will the concern authorities take any action or will they give a deaf ear on this regard.
