[Resolved]  Tata Docomo — Unethical Behavior: Lies

I recently requested for a micro-sim from the company. When I went to the Tata Docomo center in Koramangala, they told me that my number has been issued in someone else's name. This constitutes fraud and theft of identity on the company's part, as upon inquiring the details in the database, it showed that it had my email id updated. I had been using the prepaid number for the past 3 years and now I was told that I can't be issued a micro-sim since it is someone else's name. Here the scam of Tata Docomo starts. They told me that I can convert the number to a postpaid number and get it issued in my own name. I did that as I wanted a micro sim. I gave my passport for identity proof. They told me that their agent would come to verify the address. Unfortunately, when their agent came after 2-3 days I was in office and was not able to get the address verified. Neither the agent called me before coming nor informed me when he would visit next. I got a call from the customer care about the verification again and told them to come on wekend:- Saturday 3 PM 12th sept, 15 for verification. The agent comes for verification at 12 in the noon that day. I signed the document he had but he was rude and asked for my designation, which seems unrelated to address verification. Later, I got a message saying that since my address was not verified, my outgoing would be barred. I tried raising multiple requests but they finally barred the outgoing on my phone. After another set of heckling on the phone with the customer care, they enabled the outgoing and raised a re-verification request. This time to not delay it further I requested them to come before 10am on any weekday and verify the address. No one came to verify the address for last 2 days(15th, 16th sept) during the time I gave. They have barred the outgoing again on my number. This is not only unprofessional but also constitutes unlawful practice, theft of identity on Tata Docomo's part.
