Tata Motors — Safari Accomplished plus 6S

I, Mr. DGSM, purchased a Tata (Safari) ACCOMPLISHED PLUS 6S vehicle from Shiva Shankar Automobiles, Dondaparthy, Visakhapatnam, which was delivered to me on 09 October 2024.

From the initial months of purchase itself, the vehicle started showing multiple defects and technical malfunctions, causing severe inconvenience, financial loss, mental stress, and safety concerns to me and my family.

In June 2025, the infotainment system of the vehicle started malfunctioning repeatedly. I approached the authorized service center, Shiva Shankar Automobiles, where the issue was temporarily rectified. The service personnel informed me that it was merely a minor software-related issue in the mechanical/electrical system of the vehicle.

However, in November 2025, while I was travelling with my family to attend the funeral of one of our closest family members, the vehicle suddenly started displaying multiple warning errors on the digital instrument cluster. Simultaneously, there was a serious malfunction in the braking and steering systems of the vehicle. During this incident, I momentarily lost proper control over the car, which posed a grave threat to the lives and safety of my entire family travelling in the vehicle.

The said incident caused me severe fear, trauma, insecurity, and mental harassment. Ever since that life-threatening incident, I have never felt safe or confident driving the said vehicle again.

Further, on 08 May 2026, while travelling with my family on a long journey, the air conditioning system of the vehicle stopped functioning midway. Along with this, the digital instrument cluster again started displaying various error warnings. Due to fear and uncertainty regarding the safety and reliability of the vehicle, we were forced to discontinue our journey midway and return back.

The vehicle was once again submitted to the same authorized service center, Shiva Shankar Automobiles service centre, for inspection and repairs. After inspection, the service center informed us that there was an AC gas leakage issue in the vehicle. They further stated that the AC pin/valve pin was missing, resulting in leakage of gas, and that replacement of the pin along with refilling of AC gas was necessary. During further inspection, they also identified rusting on the front bonnet of the vehicle.

Believing the representations made by the service center and assuming that the defects were due to manufacturing or mechanical issues, we gave our consent for the repairs and services to be carried out accordingly.

However, at the time of delivery after service, we were shocked to notice a major dent on the tailgate of the vehicle, which was caused while the car was in the custody of the service center. Upon questioning the same, the staff merely assured us that they would repair the damage.

It is extremely shocking and disappointing that within such a short span from the date of purchase, a vehicle worth approximately Rs. 32 lakhs+ has been plagued with repeated defects involving the braking system, steering system, electrical systems, infotainment system, AC mechanism, rusting, and negligent servicing.

Despite repeatedly accepting the defects and replacing/repairing various parts, the company and authorized service center have failed to provide a permanent and reliable solution. Apart from the apparent manufacturing defects, there has also been clear negligence and deficiency in service on the part of the authorized service center.

After the first major incident involving steering and braking malfunction, I attempted to dispose of/sell the vehicle in the market due to fear for my safety and that of my family. However, no buyers came forward to purchase the vehicle because of the serious and life-threatening defects associated with it.

As a result, I suffered substantial monetary losses and inconvenience, as I was forced to rely on public transport to commute to my workplace regularly because I could no longer trust or safely use the vehicle. The unpredictable performance and recurring defects made the vehicle completely unreliable for personal and family use.

I submit that such defects in a vehicle are not only dangerous to the owner and occupants but also pose a serious threat to public safety at large. The poor response, repeated defects, and negligent handling by the company and its authorized service center have caused immense mental agony, emotional distress, financial loss, and loss of confidence in the brand.

Therefore, in the interest of justice and public safety, I request that appropriate action be taken against Tata Motors and the concerned authorized service center for supplying a defective vehicle and rendering deficient and negligent service.

I further request appropriate compensation for the mental harassment, financial losses, safety risks, inconvenience, and deficiency in service suffered by me and my family.
