[Resolved]  Tata Motors — tata nexon new vehicle problems

Hello team,

My name is vipin balakrishnan and i purchased tata nexon petrol xz+ in feb 2018 from ebony motors nagawara, bangalore. I am writing this to you with high hopes to solve my issues with the vehicle.

From the date of purchase i had multiple issues with the vehicle starting with the music player knobs and physical switches not working which i had to work with dealer taking it to pdi center again. Later the issue started with engine knocking at low rpms or when you push the vehicle to speed before shifting to next gear. This is not expected noise from vehicle as i have not experienced this with test drive vehicles or my friend who just purchased tata nexon. Also engine vibrates heavily at low rpm with weird engine noise like if some parts inside are really not in sync. I gave my vehicle for first service and informed them about the problems but it never got fixed. This was end of march 2018 after a month from purchase.

After the first service i noticed along with the existing problems i have a new problem which is less pick up. I took 3 test drives for nexon before purchasing the vehicle and i can assure my car has real problem with pick up and when asked one of the mechanic in service center he told it is normal pick up.

Yesterday 5th may i had to attend an important meeting and my car gave upon me. I experienced a breakdown near ulsoor (Bangalore) with my car gears stuck. I stopped the vehicle and tried to start but gears does not engage anymore and i am stranded in the middle of the road. Luckily i was in slow traffic and not on highways or overtaking while this problem surfaced else it would have led to dangerous situation. At 7:30 pm i called road side assistance who informed me towing truck will take my vehicle to the dealer and i waited till 8:30 pm only to know towing truck will take 2 hours to come and they can arrange a custodian. I handed over keys to custodian who came at 9:30 pm since i was already getting late for meeting. My car got picked up at 12:45 am in the night which is close to 5 + hours of breakdown. This is the response time in city and i can only imagine if i was in highway it would have taken more. My car is with dealer who said they will work on monday since they dont have technicians on sunday.

I am requesting tata to look at the above problems and to summarize please help me resolve the issues before i get the vehicle.

1. Engine noise and vibration at low rpm's - this is not the normal engine noise and it is more of like engine knocking
2. Low pick up - please check why my car has less pick up than other vehicles including the test drive vehicles.
3. Gear issue - i am not sure what the issue is here but a new car should not have gear engaging issues within two months of purchase.

I purchased this vehicle after seeing some good tata cars recently and feedback about how tata have improved after sales service. Dear TATA Motors,
I have purchased a Nexon XZ+ DT Jan 2018. Its been a year I own this Car/ compact SUV.
Since then, I have problems - with which I have been living with.

I recently encountered a major issue while driving - especially after dark.
Concern is on Head Light, which accumulates Fog as i drive with my lamps on.
The vision is blurry and I don't see side ways / walk ways on narrow streets, where the Street lights are not available.

I had to take to the agency where the Car was purchased to register a compliant, While the staffs in the agency refuse to take my compliant and ask for more pics to prove that its foggy inside and affects vision while driving.
I have shared few pics to my agency and still the issue is not yet solved. Customer care Rep keep insisting me to present with pics when the head lights are completely accumulated with Fog!!!.

Why would i risk my life and drive until its completely foggy. If i still do, Should i halt and call Tata motors in the middle of the night and stay back in Work shop / street?.

This isnt the right solution / perfect fix / perfect trouble shooting mechanism to handle a customer.
