Hello,
Good afternoon.
Its with quite a bit of regret that i am writing to customer care of tatamotors.
I own a tata zest xma car which i booked pre-launch and i guess mine should be one of the first tata zest xma (Amt). I bought an automatic since i was habituated to driving automatic gear cars while in the usa.
There is a predominant issue where the vehicle breaks work intermittently while the vehicle is in speed range of zero to twenty kms per hour, during initial accelaration. This may also be during the transition between 1st and 2nd gear while in auto mode.
I went through an accident also due to this issue and ended up paying about rs.18, 000/- for damages to front bumper, tinkering, painting etc to my car and paid rs.6000 to the owner of other car which i the zest banged from behind.
I have escalated the issue a number of times at service center and till date they have not been able to rectify the issue. Infact the last three instances of service i have insisted on concorde service personnel to escalate the matter to tata service and i get the following responses
1) their service personnel have seen this themselves and agree with the issue during test drive
2) they have also mentioned that they escalated the matter and tata motors responded mentioning it is the feature of the gear. My question is how can a defect be a feature???
The issue continues and initial move has gone from bad to worse since last service.
I have seen similar escalations when i searched the internet also. Let me reiterate that matter is serious. Consider a case where the car is moved while at signal when it turns green and someone is halfway crossing the road or suddenly crosses the road on zebra crossing, brakes of zest dont work. This can take a citizen's life apart from bad press for tata motors.
Unfortunately the email i sent to tata motors customer care email id on 16th june has no response at all till date. I am hoping tata motors will be responsive in this matter.
Thank you
Best regards
Kj
