Dear Sir / Madam,

I have subscribed THE HINDU News Paper for 01 Yr ( from 30.07.2011 to 30.07.2012 ) with Order No. TH / 749682 dtd. 06.07.2011. Due to transfer of my services, I was shifted to Gajuwaka from Madhurawada. For that, I had sent a mail to THE HINDU on 04.06.2012 for changing the Delivery Address for deliver the News Paper by stating the NEW & OLD Communication / Delivery Address. But till date I have not received the New Paper at my New Delivery Address.

Regarding this I have contacted the HINDU Office, Visakhapatnam several times. But they are not responding properly and every time they are simply saying that, News Paper will delivery from onwards.

Hope this complaint will help to take action against the Concern Person for deliver the News Paper to my New Correspondence Address.

I am the subscriber of the Hindu daily news paper. I had paid an amount of Rs. 240.00 to SriY V Ramana, CRO, Hindu news paper, Gopalapatnam, Visakhapatnam for half yearly scheme on 12.10.2011 and my commencement date is 1st November 2011. My Order Number is TH/0761403. But the news paper is not received from the December -2011. The same was intimated to Hindu office, Visakhapatnam by phone from my number to [protected] constantly, but there is no correct response. They told that i have to make a mail to you after a long time ( i.e in last week only) . Therefore I request the authority to continue to supply of news paper daily and extend my order immediately. Hello Sir/Madam,

My name is Madhusudhan and I am writing from Hyderabad. This is regarding The Hindu news papers, owned by Proprietors: Kasturi and Sons Ltd, registered office is at 6-3-879 & 879B, Begumpet Public Road, Hyderabad-500016.
I have paid Rs.240/- twice for the renewal and continuation of my newspaper and for the last 2 months I have not received the copy of the as promised subscription. I do have the reciept and my order number is TH/487411. My Reader Subscription No.4070547. Everyday I have been calling their distribution head Mr. Ismail on [protected] and their Area head Mr. Srinivas [protected] while I have also raised the complaint at their office with their Marketing and Customer Service Head on ph number[protected] and YET, I have not recieved even a single copy of the promised daily subscription.
As a last resort I am writing this to you and hoping this will bring some change and the delivery of the daily newspaper will be reinstated. I will also lodge the complaint in the necessary legal format and also let me know if I have to lodge a complaint with the local police station. Please advise.

I have paid for six months package which ends on March 14th 2012. But for the past one week i did not receive any delivery.When I tried to contact the concerned person Mr.Anwar is not lifting the phone at all..!!! This attitude of the concerned authority is very rude .They are not doing any charity services for us to keep silent.We have paid fully for the six months in advance.

My order number for 6 month subscription of 'THE HINDU' newspaper is 0483444.
The offer subscription date starts from 6/7/2011 to 15/01/2012 .

The vendor who is supposed to deliver us the newspaper is T SAI BABA and the centre is listed as IDPL,Hyderabad.
The vendor had suddenly stopped delivering the newspaper starting Jan 4 2012 even though its actually to be delivered till Jan 15 2012.There have been often discontinuity in the newspaper and they have only been restored after being given complaint to the helpline. I am vexed with the overall services of the vendor and also on the newspaper organisation for choosing such vendor to offer the services.

On asking why he stopped the subscription offer,the vendor , Mr Sai baba, mentioned above says "give a complaint.i dont bother.I will not deliver the paper.Your offer is completed". I would like to know how the vendor has such audacity to talk to a client like that even though he has to deliver the paper till Jan 15 .However, the helpline call placed today also had the same reply "we are looking into it" .

My name is Balakrishnan from coimbatore.I'm a regular subscriber of The Hindu newspaper.For the past 2 days i didn't receive the newspaper.So i called to the coimbatore branch to complaint about the non-delivery.But they are not responding properly.So please consider this complaint and make them deliver the paper regularly as soon as possible.

getting the newspaper very late..by the time i will be leaving to college..i desparetly need a newspaper everyday as i am used to it everyday..but because of change in the paper boy or so..getting the newspaper around 8 am..which i used to get it by 6:30(max) earlier....so hope u respond to this problem..i think this might the problem for many of the students like me ..who need to leave to the college early in the mng ..so hope this prob will be solved as soon as possible...

Such a reputed daily with more than 100 years history seems to be favouring some Institute. Today on 2nd May 2011 in Education Plus, you have given an item mentioning "GITAM Devlops Super Computer". I dont think they have developed. Rather they have procured from CDAC or some other organization. To my knowledge, even IITs did not develop any super computer. I feel this is admission time and this type of boosted messages will convey wrong signals to prosperous graduate students about Institute. I demand an apology for the wrong representation.

My name is k b maiti. i am a regular subscriber of THE HINDU news paper. I changed my residence address due to some domestic problem.After changing my residence i told my delivery boy to give the daily news paper in my current address which is within one square kilometer to my previous residence. He directed me to call to the news paper office. Following his guidance i contacted THE HINDU news paper office(visakhapatnam). They told me to send a letter through E- mail. since then I sent them E-mail twice about my change of address but no action has been taken till now. It has now been passed one month. Now whenever i try to call them they always deny that they have not received my mail. But previously they were accepting that. Plz give a look in to my problem as i have to prepare for competitive exams. 0751524 is my order no.

Sir, I have payed in advance annual subscription for The Hindu news paper vide order number:TH / 735480 dt.[protected] and reader subscription number : 74809 dt[protected] and the paper has to be supplied till[protected]. But from[protected] onwards the paper is not supplied and I complied more than a dozen times at phone numbers 2536159 / 2536160 and they simple tell it will be rectified, agent changed but no result. I value for my money and request for help.

Irregular deliveries after taking half- yearly- subscriptions vide order no-TH/728183 dated 6/7/2010.the phone no for regional general manager-Seethammadhara, visakhapatnam branch, as given in receipt RSN-727071 -[protected](this no. doesn't exist) and the concerned agent named Sharma's no-[protected] is always lifted by his wife, telling he is not in the home.Now think whom you will fix ?sharma or regional gen.manager or THE HINDU cheating management per se?

I Paid subscription through order no: 0468834 for the HINDU news paper through their agent on 08/08/2010.They told as they will supply the edition from 16th august 2010.But they are not circulating the paper.I made sevaeral calls to their office at begumpet on[protected]/23403902.Till date(20/09/2010)they are not circulating.In the reception also the front office executives also giving irregular answers to the readers.This is very bad. After collecting the subscription also, they are not able to supply the edition.I called Asst regional manager and etc.,,Mr.Anjaneyulu,sankar,srikanth etc.But till date i am ot able to get the copy.why? As we are cheating by the HINDU through its agencies?

I am a regular reader of "The Hindu" Last week i saw an ad for Kids Laptop. I placed an order for 1 no. Kids laptop on 11th April 2010 viar online (/www.thehindushopping.com) and the payment of Rs 449 through Debit Card. The Order No is HI[protected]. The Current Status is Ready to Ship ( from day One). In the Remarks it is Will be shipped by 16 Apr 2010. But till now I haven’t received the goods. Also there is no reply for the tickets we raise. Could you kindly let me know the status of order and when it is to be sent. The Customer Care is also not picking up the call whenever I call. Appreciate your assistance regarding this.

I am a resident of Rein Bazaar,Yakutpura, Hyderabad has placed a order of subscription of The Hindu Newspaper for six months on 25 Jan.2010, Customer Relation Officer said the Delivery of Paper start on 1 Feb.between 6 and 6:30 pm on everyday. the Order no.is 0457823.

Earlier also I lodge a complain in this forum no action is taken the same problem I am facing i.e., deliver of paper is between 9:30 -10am on Sundays 10-11 am.

what is the use of paper if it come by above mention time I ask the hawker please bring the paper by at least 7 am but he said he can't bring I call several times and visited the office of The Hindu Newspaper nothing Happens,

if they don't have any hawker in our area why they booked my order instead they have to say sorry we don't have any hawker but they promise but delivering by 9-10 am

I request to consumer forum to take necessary action and solve my problem as soon as possible.

The Hindu with it's supplement-The Education Plus has kept it's readers pondering over various issues,irrespective of age.Today(Monday,July 6th,2009),the same paper comes up with an article by Mr.Yandamoori Veerendranath-THINKING LOGICALLY HOLDS THE KEY.This article has a very bland introduction,portraying astrology,a practical science as illogical and superstitious.Such baseless comments about a science is invalid and shall be seriously condemned by the young scientists and practising astrologers.
Every field has it's own flaws-accepted and that is how science devolops with failures becoming the postulates of another theory.That is how one theory begets another.When a writer pens down an article,it should have content that must give it's ardent readers a food for thought and points to ponder.There is something ironical about this article.It has intriguing questions to ponder at the end,but inorder to delve into the depths of logic and stimulate the readers,Mr.Veerendranath cannot start with such a grotesque story,leaving some of it's immature readers with wrong connotations about the empirical and upcoming science.I accept the quasi-empiricism of the subject but the scientific fraternity believes that the method is archaic and yet an effective way for progress.
Top universities in the world like Stanford have departments dealing with astrology and other psychic sciences.I shall not forget that astrology has roots in our country and it is being practised since primeval times.Our culture does not advocate the principle of ruling out a science based on one's whims and fancies.
As such,there is a negative western influence on the present youth and tabloids are outrageously debating over it.
When a western country has aped our ancient methods,WHY SHOULD EDUCATED-CITIZENS OF OUR COUNTRY give a wrong notion to the audience via a LEADING NEWSPAPER?
When people read a newspaper,the general tendency is to blindly believe what is printed in a NATIONAL DAILY.A discussion on logic should not be a carrier wave of wrong notions and I personally feel that THE HINDU should not be the root-cause.The man is trying to obfuscate the gentle readers.
If an opinion from stalwarts of this field matters,then I can provide you with voluminous information, supporting the claim-ASTROLOGY is NOT ILLOGICAL.My point is different and does not lead to further discussion.An individual,like Mr.Veerendranath who is all praised for his acumen and free-spirited nature,does NOT have the right to portray astrology on the whole as illogical based on a few nincompoops near Tank Bund carrying parrots and calling themselves as astrologers.The starting of the article is being considered banal by the readers and has been fixed inappropriately leading to a whimsical mockery of astrology and people practising it.
If you say that one has the right to express what he/she feels,then i have to remind you that-One's freedom ends at the other persons' nose.It valid to a profession too.Just because he is a writer,the law hasn't conferred him the right to write stories begetting slur remarks.
I don't want our culture to become devoid of something that we have inherited from our ancestors and I shall fight for it until proper justice is given.

Finally,I want an apology from the EDITOR of THE HINDU,Mr.Veerendranath or to whomsoever it may concern in tomorrow's newspaper that it was an mistake made unknowingly,not with an intention to hurt the soul of any practising astrologer or a penchant individual trying to learn the same.I know that the needful shall be done to safegaurd science and our culture.
I belong to a family of polemics,always concerned about the country's culture,science,promoting peace.


Suggestions/Recommendations:1.Check the validity of the articles before they are published.
2.Come up with new ideas promoting science.

I Mohd.Jamal, Resident of H.No:17-1-137/D/20,First Floor, Mubeen Colony, Rein Bazar,Yakutpura,Hyderabad-500023 has placed a order for Subscription of THE HINDU on 25th of January Order No.0457823 for 6 months.

The CRO said that from 1st of Feb. but it start on 4 Feb, I have lost 3 days, the delivery of paper is too late, hawker is delivering paper by 9:15,9:30 ,10 and on Sundays 10:30 am .what is the use of paper if it deliver by above mention time.

My father works in E.C.I.L. he leaves the house to pick up Company bus which come near Rein Bazar Chaman by 7:05 am, My brother has to go Hi Tech City he leave the around 8 am then what is the use of paper if is come above mention time.

I made a call to CRO several times he promise by next day it will come by 6, 6:30 but nothing happens, I visit the Office which is at Begumpet they also promise with in 2 days the problem will solve we were hiring another hawker but nothing happens,

If they don't have any hawker in our area then why should they book order clearly they can say our hawker is not their in your place sorry. instead they book order and promise the paper will be deliver by 6, 6:30 am but the paper start after 3 days missing that too very late .

I want paper should be deliver by 6 am or return my money back that's it.

I am Vijay working in mnc residing at HAL, bangalore. We took the annual subscription of Hindu News Paper (Order # 0313289) on 22nd Feb, 2009. The actual delivery started 10 days later after calling the delivery person number of times. Most of the times during the year we had to call to the delivery person to remind him about delivery to which he replies that no paper available to deliver for that particular day. We almost lost 50 days newspapers in the year by this inspite of making number of calls to the respective assigned persons. Now, the subscription is getting completed on 21st feb, but he stopped delivering paper completely from the last 20 days. Even after calling the respective person named Desai (mob: [protected]), he seems to be least bothered about our concern. He is not picking our calls now and in our last conversation he said to do whaterver we can and even can go to any court to lodge the complaint. I think there should be some system by which we can teach some lesson or take action with such person and also the newspaper.

We expect to get justice at the earliest
