Wanted to buy Prestige KETTLE since it is the only MADE IN INDIA product that could be found from a reputed manufacturer (one other option was Crompton Greaves but it was mostly Chinese make) so bought it. Felt kind of proud! Looks like some kind of glue has been used to stick (join) the nozzle to the kettle body. Since the first time it was put to use, there is a white residue that is leaking from the joint and it has created a visible but irremovable white stain. No matter how many time it is washed or wiped, it stays. While the intention behind this MAKE IN INDIA was to produce world class products at competitive prices and show the world our inherent capabilities, that objective has been lost in the process. With supply chain/logistics issues with Chinese imports, it has been a boon to Indian manufacturers to flood the market with such shabby products one side and increase the prices without any rationale, on the other side. GOI has to intervene at least to have control on pricing. This kettle for instance is double the price compared to China origin product. Of course it might not be possible to achieve even Chinese quality straightaway (give them their due, China has really gone a long way in quality these days) We have a really long way to go - from stop talking to start doing. And doing things right. Was this information helpful? |
