Uber India — Free ride expire before the promised date.

Hello! i signed up for uber few days ago. It was shown on the app that I have a first free ride which will expire on 8th of November 2015. Assuming that I still have that free first ride I was at my friends place till 8 pm and decided to leave. I walked on to the road...it was dark and not a friendly neighborhood. I could see uber cabs close by in my app. when I checked if I still had that free first ride..it disappeared . It was right there till this evening..blindly trusting uber app..I didn't bother to carry enough money this evening. It said my free first ride is valid till 8th November 2015. doesn't that mean it should expire after 12 mid night? not 6 hours early than that time. why didn't my free ride show up? I was all alone...with no money..in a very bad neighborhood .it was scary and I felt terrible for just trusting ur app and for taking it seriously. Kindly look into what was wrong.
