Uber India — Uber charged higher rate than shown at the time of booking | |||||
I and my spouse availed uber pool service dated 5th june 2017 for pickup from hiranandani hospital powai to drop at vikhroli east. For the specific pick and drop for 2 persons the fare shown was rs. 42. On the way another pick up came and he boarded near kailash complex vikhroli west. Our drop location was first and on reaching the destination and on completing the trip at the correct drop location the fare came to rs. 145. On enquiring from the driver how the fare increased and on showing on my uber app that the fare is showing as rs. 42 he called uber driver contact center and put the call on speaker for all parties to hear. To my surprise the driver support team upfront told i can't talk to customer. Collect the fare shown on app and if customer has any issue or for any refund customer can come to mumbai uber office. Without going for a tussle with the driver i paid and wrote for a refund raising a complaint on uber app explaining the incidence. A further surprise was awaiting when i was told by uber customers app support team that i was over charged as per uber go rates because i was dropped at a location different from earlier drop location selected. When i wrote back stating the uber app details clearly shows my pick and drop location and for verification the driver can be asked i received a reply that as per their details my drop location is different from earlier drop location selected and refund cannot be done. I am still continuing my fight for justice and to raise voice and make others aware i am sharing my experience here also to make uber know that such fraudulent practice will not hold for long and awareness will spread and justice will be there.
