Same here . I booked in 2007 in Cascade tower 6. They are using this money to finance their other activities. Let us

I purchased a flat in 2006 in Unitech Horizon - they did not give the possession for 5 years. I must have sent many complaints to ICICI Bank too, who did not reply a single email of mine nor gave any proper answers when I called them over phone. I am an NRI. Giving up on them I stopped payment to Bank giving them plenty of notice and reminding them that I will stop payment if they did not respond - NO answer from ICICI Bank too.

It's Bank and Builders Nexus to gobble up money of those who are physically disatntl. Because when I visited India later and met Bank officials, they told me to give lumpsum of balance amount too otherwise they will auction the flat. I visited Unitech Horizon and the tower wasn't even ready. Waiting for 5 years and paying interest was not acceptable ( in fact its illegal in country where we live) I therefore asked the Bank to refund my money - No answer from ICICI Bank. I even told them that I will restart payments once the flat is ready - No answer from ICICI Bank again.

In India law does not work for common man or at best you require years to drag your feet to courts to fight and wish your luck of you get something. I therefore have been forced into a corner by them and looks like I have been royally cheated by ICICI Bank & Unitech

(I had paid 100% advance of over Rs45 Lakhs to Unitech at the time Unitech Horizon project was started).

My experience says that it's a Bank Builder Nexus and bigger than what meets the eye.

I am not sure how you can help and how long the case can drag on in Indian courts but if you have a

Hello Sirs, the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has passed 6 orders (that I am sure of) directing Unitech to refund the amount along with 18% interest per annum. It is a huge amount that you can reclaim. For the NRI guy, you can even get extra costs for mental agony, harassment, and expenditure incurred in travelling to India for the same (in one of the cases, the Commission awarded Rs 50K for mental agony and Rs 50K for harassment!), so please file a case in the National Commission if your claim is more than Rs 1 Crore, or State Commission, if it's between Rs 20 lakh-Rs 1 Crore!
