There is something fishy about the relationship between videocon company and the service centers through which it provides component repair/replacement service to the customers. The complaints registered by the customer is not correctly transmitted/conveyed to the service centers. I wanted the service on saturday and registered a complaint on thursday. Nobody turned up. I registered a complaint again telling that i need service on next saturday. The person from service center called and told he would attend it on saturday next. But before next saturday i received a sms message telling the service request has been cancelled for reason, "repeated house lock"; and it instructed me to send nst if the product is not repaired and i want it to be repaired through company. I did it and got a confirmation and name of a person for contact. The person next day called me and told if i reopen the service request through company no engineer will attend my washing machine. After four weeks of wait and not sending response to next sms messages from company, one person arrived on a saturday and did the repair. He opened a exit valve closing coil, changed the rubber below and fixed it back and charged me rs. 2800.00. He also said me to make an amc contract which i did. The delay of 1 month in getting the service caused havoc on me as i had to wash my cloths myself throughout this period in spite of having a two year old made-in-india washing machine at my home. Only about two months back the same washing machine was repaired for ic failure on motherboard pcb. The complete motherboard was changes at the cost of more than 5 thousand rupees. The service timing should be conducive and flexible to support homes where occupants are available only on weekends. Videocon should check why their service centers' people do not want to provide service to customers who reopen the unfinished/unattended service requests. Is it because they don't get the service charge when the request reach them via company?
