I have booked VW Taigun (TN 11 AY 6586) from KUN Volkswagen, Chennai on May 7th, 2022 and car was delivered to us on May 14th, 2022.
It was smooth ride for first 2 weeks than the issue started with Clutch. We encountered burnt smell from Vehicle Clutch on 2nd week after the purchase just before the first free service call from KUN Volkswagen.
We felt its weird for a brand-new car and even reported to the service team about the issue but the team dismissed it saying the Clutch is absolutely fine and it is in good working condition.
But, now on August 21st after 2 months the car broke down in middle of the night pertaining to Clutch failure!
Had to request VW Roadside side assistance on the same night but VW team on call requested if the area is secure, please park it over and the team will tow it next day morning.
After 2 days at the service centre in KUN VW Alandur, Chennai, we hear that Clutch plate is completely burnt and the reason is wear and tear which is completely absurd.
How come a brand-new vehicle of just 2-3 months old can bring upon wear and tear issue with just 4000 KM run? This seriously raises concern about the quality of vehicle and the parts used!
It’s really disheartening to see VW Car’s quality degraded just within 3 months and to be fair already few of my friends who shortlisted the car for immediate purchase were looking for different brand after hearing the issue.
No one able to believe or digest how a brand-new vehicle that too Volkswagen within 3 months of delivery can bring upon wear and tear issue!
Strongly believe this is purely an issue with Quality control and would like to get a proper explanation from VW India team and this has to be covered under the warranty.
