[Resolved] Volkswagen India — vw vento tsi abs sensors | |||
I have a 2014 vento tsi. The car has good performance, but has had 2 abs sensors fail within a span of 2 months (Abs light was showing on the dashboard). Now again, i am having the issue of the abs dashboard light since the last 2 weeks. I take the car out only once or twice per month. Every time i am at the authorised svc, i see at least two customers angry about multiple abs sensors failing. My maternal uncle who has a vw polo gt in chennai also has had to get all 4 abs sensors replaced. I believe that vw india has deliberately used components with pre determined failure life so that it can milk the customers for their hard earned cash. I had to spend more than inr 10000 for getting the 2 sensors replaced earlier. This is an exorbitant price for sensors which are actually available much cheaper for the skoda brand and are also of the same design. I urge vw to address the issue and either provide customers with a subsidy or discounted service for this design error. I hope that vw will acknowledge this issue themselves unlike the diesel emission scandal where any wrongdoing was admitted only after government agencies stepped in. This is a chronic issue with VW seems like. I have Vento Highline 2017 purchase. Had an ABS replacement for Rs. 4, 500 in Nov 2020 and now have been told another sensor has gone. Advisor at the service centre (Sewri) is telling me to replace all sensors at once so this doesnt happen again and again.
