I purchased a Voltas AC 1.2 ton in the name of Swayamprava Nayak, mob- [protected] in March 2020 in Bangalore. It was installed by voltas service center(Royal cooling systems) within 15-20 days of purchase. I had used the AC for 15-20 days. In October 2020, when I switched on the AC, there was no cooling.
On contacting customer service, the service center executive inspected and reported that coolant is leaking due to a problem with the indoor unit and he has sealed the leak. When I checked the AC in December, the same problem persisted. On contacting customer care, service center inspected again and concluded that the leakage is in the outdoor unit and replaced the cooling coil.
After which I went to my hometown due to Covid. When I came back in Dec 2021, I found the same problem again. On inspection by a service agent, it was found that coolant is empty. On contacting customer care, I was told that I have to pay for coolant filling, nitrogen and service charge. I informed the customer care that the same problem is recurring since the installation of the AC and it's the company's fault that they haven't been able to find a solution till now.
After 15-20 days of argument with the customer care and nonchalant attitude(closing my service request without consulting me), I agreed to pay for coolant filling charge of 3000 and service charge of 600. Finally, in the month of March, service center executives(S.K. Cooling) came to troubleshoot the leakage and found that the leakage was happening due to a bend in coolant pipe from outdoor unit to indoor unit which was caused by faulty installation. They performed a servicing of the AC and rectified the bend.
Few days later, when I used the AC, water started to pour from the indoor unit. I contacted the service center again and it was found that the water drainage pipe was not installed properly during installation. Few days later, when I switched on the AC, the AC began switching ON and OFF by itself. On contacting the service center, they visited after 5 days and rectified the issue. 2-3 days later, the same problem is recurring.
Is this the kind of service Voltas is offering?
Why am I unjustly charged 3000 for coolant filling charge if it occured due to faulty installation by Voltas approved service center?
Course of action:
1- Refund of coolant filling charge of 3000.
2- Rectification of current issue properly since it has been a routine to contact service center.
