AVOID BUYING WESTERN DIGITAL PRODUCTS

WD has the most pathetic support system ever. They don’t even have an office or a helpdesk anywhere in India. THEIR DAMN DELHI HELP LINE OPEN FROM 10 to 6 FROM MONDAY TO FRIDAY AND ALWAYS ENGAGED. I HAVE TRIED TO CALL THEM FOR LAST 3 MTHS, BUT THEIR DAMN LINES ARE ALWAYS ENGAGED AND STILL NOT RECEIVED REPLACEMENT OF MY 320 GB ELEMENT PORTABLE HDD.
HERE IS THE NEW RMA NO[protected] WHICH THEY PROVIDED ME BUT IT USELESS IF THEY ARE DELAYING IT SO MUCH FOR JUST A LITTLE THING.

    I have already submitted complaint against western digital regarding same issue,( Portable HDD replacement), I have been continuosly following up with company via telephony and via emails but most of the time either their toll free numbers are busy or I get response that all the customer care executives are busy and will take my call shortly but nobody do so.

    I first launched my complain on[protected] and the have given me RMA No :[protected] and docket no :[protected] but the docket number they have provided is unable to track.

    It has been 2 months passed I have not received replacement, is there anything that we can do to for fast track replacement from them, because I am losing my patience and want to talk to the higher authorities, please help me if anybody listening out there or tell me the procedure to take this case further.

      I purchased a Western Digital Hard Disk in May 2009 for Backup purpose.
      I tried to format the Disk sometime on later 2010 and it got corrupt.
      WD provides a 5 years replacement guarantee on external hard disk and hence I requested for same, which was done promptly and it was a good experience.
      But, within a month, the new Hard Disk got corrupt, when I tried to format it.
      I raised a replacement request on 19th Feb' 2011. It was not picked up from my place for a month. Called a number of times and finally it was picked around 21st or 22nd of March' 2011. I kept waiting for replacement then and called them on 4th of April. They informed that the Hard Disk is shipped to me as per their records and gave Speedman courier's tracking number. I called the Courier Company and a very local lady asked me to be on hold and kept fighting with other Customers on other Phone and kept abusing Western Digital. She told me that the Drive came to Indore and was returned to WD because their Courier does not provide Service in the area I reside (WOW... Indore is not yet a big place that Couriers provide area-wise service and secondly why did WD chose such a Courier). So, I called back WD and asked for status, which they were not at all aware of.
      After a number of calls and getting frustrated, I called the WD Support again on Tuesday, 19th April 2011 and it was a call of 1.5 hours, from which I was on hold for 1 hour. I talked to a Supervisor and explained the Scenario. He talked in a sweet tone, as always and made glittering promises, like I'll take care of this issue on my own and will escalate it. I'll give a status call tomorrow and on Friday and the people from Warehouse shall deliver the Hard Disk and will give You a status call also.
      But, nothing has happened yet. It's Monday today. I've been trying to call their Support Number since morning and the Phone is engage.
      Can anyone suggest me what to do.

      I Prakash Dubey Had been registered my Hard Drive for replacement. I got the RMA No. # 82149384 on 6 th September 2010. I called the customer care support center everyday to the pickup the hard drive, but no one turned up upto 13th October 2010. Then I had a called customer care support center one more time, they told me to send the parcel via 2 pay service. Then I sent the parcel via BLUE DART 2 pay service on 13 th October 2010, & the parcel was delivered to you on next day at 11.00 am.Then after 15 days later, I called customer care support center for the status, Surprisingly they told that The Parcel has not been received yet.
      Nothing has been done in this case by the company.

        I have purchase a 500 GB WD HDD it was working fine but suddenly its stopped working and I logged complain in their site (RMA 82439403 on 14/01/2011).

        After I have so many email, they told me that your HDD send in Speed Man Courier docket no : 21800274, which was dispatched on[protected], when I was try to track docket no (which was carried by speed man courier services) it become invalid !! I was in big shock.

        So, i finally decide to logged a complaint in consumer court.

          My WD external HDD was not getting detected by the system only after 7 days of purchase so I surrendered the HDD to Intervo shop at T.Nagar Chaennai for replacement..My RMA application no. is 82511475....they are telling that they have already delivered the replacement courier...but it had been 23 days...but i still didnt...

          When I connect my Western Digital 500GB external hard disk with system, it not detected, I need the address of service center in chennai

              Western Digital — plz see in detail

              i have bought wd hdd it crashes
              i got it replaced within 8 days
              next 2 mothths same thing happened
              i got my hdd registerd
              but nobdy is there for pik up
              instead i frequently called them 7-8 times
              and atlast i mysel[censored]ge to go to the courier service

                Western digital India ltd.. should be punished for being so irresponsible, i filed a complaint for replacement of 1tb wd cavier green hard drive, but till date no pick up was done, moreover after making several calls to the call centre they keep on telling me to send the product via courier from my money.. what a stupid company...

                my rma was created on 21 st February 2011 and today is 7th march 2011 , i am still waiting for a posetive response, before filing a legal case against this company, i am posting it here....

                Again i say to all customers specially India based don't buy wd products...............Go for segate or Kingston.

                  I bought a My Passport Essential Portable Hard Drive (320GB) western digital hard disk with my friend from UAE on 05.12.2008 from the day one it was not getting detected. Hence Iam kept it silent. Now I want to use it but same problem arised.                     Hi,

                    I bought a brand new hard disk of 1 Tera byte from a authorized dealer on 28th January 2011. The moment I installed the hard disk, a strange sound started coming out from the hard disk. Later I found that the hard disk is full of bad sectors. I got surprised at the kind of quality testing WD guys are doing before shipping out their product! But I have more to get surprised in the store!

                    I created a RMA (#[protected] request for the replacement of hard disk and called the following phone numbers[protected],[protected],[protected]. Every time I called, the message on the phone was - "Dialed number is busy, please call after some time."
                    After atleast 50 tries, I was able to hear the voice - Welcome to western digital, please dial 1 for blah and 2 for bhal and so on.
                    I pressed '1', which was for replacement. To my surprise the message on the phone kept repeating that "all our representatives are attending call, please wait for some time". I waited for 1 hours and then I dropped off. This is the first time I have got across such criminals who took your money to give fraud device and then refuse to pick the phone.
                    I today's free market such companies do not have any right to survive. I don't know how customers are taking such a harassment.
                    After getting harassed for 3 hours I finally was able to talk to the customer service representative and she told me to wait for 2-3 days before the device can be collected. Now 20 days have already passed and no one came to pick up the disk. I keep dialing their fraud phone numbers and they do not pick the phone even after waiting hours. What a joke and what a harassment!
                    I am robbed in the day light and the robber is laughing at me!
                    Please put the highest penalty on such criminals.

                    Guys in Mumbai WD Service is toooo bad. we are into computer peripherals dealing and taking amc's of corporate companies. after bad service related incident with WD (intarvo has picked up BAD WD Hdd after a month) So we have stopped selling all kind of hdd of WD. and we are very much happy with Seagate service. WD service suck big time. Seagate is higher in price but atleast they have service center and replacement center in mumbai itself. not like WD as they have to send all HDD's to chennai.

                          I (ashutosh) have purchased one system from western digital in nobel nagar it is now in guratee period. computer is not running from last 3 month i talk with him. they told me computer that we had sent u hard disk from first flight courier services,but i can't got my hard disk due to a no services,but here is serviece . Till now i have not received my hard disk from the Company. Company always saying me due to certain issues the same model of the HDD is currently not available with us and the same is expected very soon. I am receiving same reply from last 3 month. I have mail and suggested to company if you have not available360gb hard disk in stock please give me another 2 hard disk of 180 gb.PLEASE DO ANYTHING SIR

                              Please we purchased a Harddisk from Parmar Distributor on 15/05/2009. We have some problem in the Harddisk Please sent a person who set right the Hardisk or give Replacement for that Harddisk.

When i contact with customer care they give wrong delivery date commimtent. I am doing retail business with computer accessories. The customer of defective hdd come day by day and speaking with harsh. Better we avoid doing the western digital hdd business.

                                hi i am vivek gupta, i purchased an external hard disk of western digital company in the month of january last year and within few days it stopped recognizing the computer. i called the support centre and they gave me a rma no[protected], complaint no- wd[protected], hdd ser no- wx90ac9r4927. they sent me replacement but without rectification. i called them back and again they told me to send the hard disk saying that they would replace it back. i had it sent to them in the month of may and since then have not got a replacement. i have mailed them several times, called them also but they just make false promises and nothing is done. the next time they gave me different rma no tht was 81993078 complaint No wd[protected]. serial No WX90AA964767.

                                  this is in context to my complaint posted on this site on 18/11/2010,
                                  very bad response from the WD people I am calling them and they are keeping my calla on hold and giving assurance that I will receive my Hard Disk in 3-4 days , month has passed and i called them 8-9 times.last time when i called they told me your HDD has been despatched and they gave me a shipment number of Aramex courier and told me to track the parcel and they are not responsible after the parcel has been dispatched and it is between Aramex and me .
                                  I think this has gone too far , if any body knows the forum or podium where i can complaint to some authorities please let me know on my email.

                                  I have asked for help having purchased the above. The final email that I received after a cursory initial response is an extremely poor response to a customer. As i work in the industry I find it arrogant and dismissive. If you seriously want to retain a customer I think that you do need to review your approach. I am now left with a machine that is not fit for purpose. The email is cut in below.

                                      I have sent 160 GB internal hard disk to the western digital company for replacement on june 30th


                                      when i have kept a mail to customer care in last 15 days back they have responded for my question and replied that with a couple of days we wil sent back your replacement hard disk but they have sent a parcel naming 80 GB hard disk and i think there was misprinting was taken place .Then i opened that parcel then i saw an adapter and charger. Then i dont know what to do when a big company does like this but i am placing a case in consumer court about this seriously

                                        Created RMA#82074725 for my faulty portable hard disk on 31/07/10, then after many email correspondence and calling, I a recevied mail saying your new HDD HAS BEEN DESPATCHED on 25/09/10,then they told me that it was a courier problem and a new BOD has been generated and u will receive the hdd in few days, from that day i have been calling them but they are ignoring my calls.
