I have purchased an Western Digital 160gb hard drive.. serial no.(Wcav[protected] on 3-march 2009... but when i attached it didn't work.. and the retailer says that just inform company they will replace it because it has onsite warranty... now tell me what is the procedure to replace it as soon as possible...

I baught a 320GB USB hard drive on 26 June when i checked the drive to home it was not working, than i call [protected] service centre he noted my complaint and said that his person will reach in 24 hrs, but he had't come till date, when i call customer care he picked phone and said tomarrow will picked the drive but not responed, next day again i did a call 2 times some one picked phone and hold me 10 to 20 min and after that cut the phone.

i bought a got a WD as a replacement for my rprevious WD HDD which crashed just after a month o[censored]sage now the replacement HDD also gave up pretty much after 6 months and the sily guyz at WD don't know how to work on call they said they will send someone in 24-48hrs to pick my HDD and as expected its been over 15 days not a single person has come to pick the HDD.
their queue as usual is full and hold time is not less than 2 hrs
i[censored] luckily get to a tech he will just tell "it will be done tomorrow " but i guess in Western Digital Tomorrow Never Comes!!!!!!! this service is totally pathetic.!!
WD needs to d osomwthing about this or else say adios to customers in INDIA.!!!!!!!

My computer hard disc IDE was not detecting and hence lodged a complaint on 26 Oct 10.. RMA no.82259673. The item was to be courier picked up. However, the same has not been collected from me yet till date. A number of times tried to contact on phone but was not successfu. Please arrange to collect the item and replace it immediately.

I am very sad to write this but this is true, I am facing the problem for the last couple of months.
My hard disk was crashed in Jan and i submitted to the WD company.RMA number is:82437886.
Whenever i try to contact to the customer care sometimes they give me different-2 excuse or normally they dont pick the phone. I am getting frustered and i dont know what i supposed to do.Hard disk is still in WD company.I am waiting for positive response from your side.

Erode N S Balasubramanian retd Indian Bank Manager, i have purchased one 1 TB Western Digital WD external Hard disc for taking back ups while upgrading my windows8.1 to windows 10 After taking back ups and i want to transfer data to my system, i had problems of very very slow of transmission
At Erode some service engineers told to switch off the system after every 3 hours asto get cool down of external hard disc since it is not supported by sysytem exhaust fan for cooling

and some others told that while taking back ups we have to make some partitions in External hard disc and then only we have to transfer

Since many external hard discs are lot of problms it is better to take 250 X4 discs instead of 1 TB disc

while purchasing the discs company has to give clear ideas o[censored]sing the same

so we can avoid lot time energy wastages this is for all who likes hard discs ok 15 07 2016 erode balu

Western digitasl is a bogus company that sells junk. I was a victim. I bought the 640 gig hard Drive My book and it died in a few weeks.
Don't buy from them unless you like losing your info and get terrible support.

Western Digital / USB - external HDD — Wrong replacement

I purchased a 250GB HDD during my daughter's visit to Geneva last year. The USB-HDD was not senses by desktop PC or Laptop on arrival. The bill copy is attached. As per the procedure I lodged a complaint to RTE services. As per their RMA generated I returned the original HDD and got a replacement. While sending, they had mailed the HDD for 80GB only and that too thinlking that it is internal HDD. I requested them to send the outer casing. But I found that the replacement was not correct and represented again. Due to the intervention of one Mr. Prashanth, I got 250GB internal HDD replacement and they are insisting that I should use the outer casing sent earlier for the 80GB HDD. It is not fitting into it. Now I am informed that the issue is closed?

I have only one question to Western Digital? When they receive the defective piece in original can't they verify the complaint and then take up for a proper replacement.

I am languigushing for the last 1 year? Hope that proper wisom will prevail on Western Digital and needul remedy may be provided to me without further loss of time.

world Digital — Faulty external hard disk

My son purchased 500 GB external hard disk on 31st July 2010 from Shimla which is under 3 years warranty. This disk is not working and same had been registerd with their call center on 20th january 2011 with RMA no. 82452050. Now there is no responce from company. when i called call center , they are telling me to go through RMA status , but nobody replying there.
