Western Digital — PRODUCT NAME : Western digital 2TB My Passport portable external hard drive INVOICE NO: BOM[protected] DATED 09/10/2021

I purchased a WD hard disk (S/N No. WX42A51FNDCF) on Amazon.in on 08/10/2021 for Rs.4589.10. The drive seemed to be working fine but the extended test in the WD drive utility and the dashboard apps got stuck at 90% and it stays there indefinitely. I have tried chatting with them and emailing them for the last couple months but they don't seem to take it seriously. They reply to me once every couple days and suggest me to repeat the same tasks to troubleshoot the drive and they never work. They asked me to create a Return Merchandise Authentication (RMA) to replace the drive but the page says that I may get a used drive instead of a new one. I think that this is totally unfair since my drive my brand new and I haven't even used it yet. Please help me in getting a refund (no problem in returning the product to them) so that I can purchase it from a more trustworthy company.
