Yamaha Motor India — Urgent enquiry reg engine issue and claim

I am writing to formally raise a concern regarding my Yamaha Ray ZR vehicle, which I purchased from your authorized dealer, Seasoned Motors, Sungam branch, Coimbatore, in May 2023. The vehicle has been serviced on time as per the schedule, and four services have been completed to date.

Recently, I noticed an unusual engine noise and took the vehicle to the dealer for an inspection. Upon opening the engine, the service team informed me that the issue lies with the engine valve and the engine head. The estimated cost of repair is approximately ₹10, 000.

I find this highly unusual and concerning, especially since my vehicle has run less than 10, 000 kilometers. I seek an explanation as to how such critical components could fail in such a short duration and under limited usage. This raises questions about the quality and durability of the product.

When I sought clarification from Seasoned Motors, I was met with a casual response stating that once the engine is opened, a claim is not possible. Furthermore, the team attributed this to a 10-day delay beyond the service due date, thereby rejecting any possibility of a warranty claim.

To escalate this matter, I contacted Yamaha India customer support today (21st November). Unfortunately, I was informed that no claim can be processed due to the delay. I find this response unacceptable as it fails to address the core issue of premature engine failure, which seems to be a manufacturing defect.

I request Yamaha Motor India to:

Provide a detailed explanation for the premature failure of the engine components.
Reassess my warranty claim based on the vehicle's condition and service history rather than minor delays.
Take necessary action against the dealer for their unprofessional handling of the situation.
As a loyal Yamaha customer, I expect a prompt resolution to this issue and a commitment to maintaining the brand's reputation for quality and customer care.
