Reference No: 'YA:27233710' Cancellation of ticket
I booked my tickets online on 22nd January 2021 through Yatra since I had heard that they provided good deals. Unfortunately, due to COVID, I had to cancel my tickets around Mid February 2021. I immediately contacted Yatra for a refund. After writing repeated emails, I finally got a reply from their end after I brought this issue up on Twitter. I tried coordinating with the airline but Yatra refused to cooperate and provide me the basic information that I needed to properly contact the airline.
Finally, I did get my refund on March 17th, 2021, But I had been overcharged for the cancellation. According to the airline policy, the airline was not charging any cancellation charges due to COVID. Further, I even called the arline's customer service helpline to confirm this and I was assured that I had not been charged any cancellation charges from their end.
Yatra provided me an invoice that included not only their cancellation charges but also 'airline Cancellation Charges'. So I again had to start with the process of writing them emails and following up. I provided the Airline's policy to Yatra multiple times in addition to informing them about my communication to the airlines.
I have spent so much of my time and energy on getting back the money I am entitled for. It is just disheartening to see companies cheating their customers and mistreating them.
I am now looking to get back the wrongly and excessively deducted refund from Yatra. I hope this issue gets resolved soon.
