[Resolved] Yatra Online / Yatratrip.in — non refund of payment despite the cancellation being done by the hotel/resort | |||
I had made a booking for a resort from the yatra website. The booking was for sanskruti resort of gokarna (Ref[protected]. The confirmed date was 11-12 dec 2017. The booking unfortunately was cancelled by the hotel, and i responded immediately my mailing the cancellation mail to yatra. They said that they would take action on it. I called up the resort and was suggested by the resort management to proceed with the trip and i would be given the room of my choice, and that the yatra refund could be taken care of as they would affirm the cancellation for the yatra booking. I kept following up with yatra with the same response, 'we will look into it'. Then finally, in one such follow up call, a guy (Travel expert) from yatra named navneet jaghmola said that he would look into it and asked me to mail the cancellation receipt to his personal email, which i did. Needless to say that i got no news from them after that, despite being assured that i would be alerted of the status asap (Sometimes they'd have the gall of assuring me of action within 30 minutes). Now several calls and 11 days later when i called up yatra again, they tell me that the hotel refused any cancellation and any refund would be impossible. Further, when i requested to be put on call with her manager, she (The travel expert) refused on my face. Despite of my asking several times, she kept refusing, even when i told her that i would wait for as long as required for her manger to become available. Finally she said that the manager would contact me soon. I am quite certain that it won't happen or will not be authentic, after going through this entire ordeal. It is not the loss of the booking price (4500 rupees) which bothers me the most, it is the on-the-face lies and deception and daylight theft (With proof of theft) of this company that has left me shocked. All i know is that, i paid money for a booking that was not cancelled by me. So whether it is by yatra (Which i am certain it is) or the sanskruti resort, i got my money stolen despite there being no fault of mine. Please refrain from using this service for making any kind of booking, and also avoid the resort if ever you plan on visiting the lovely village. Was this information helpful? | |||
