[Resolved]  Zoom Car — false allegation and charges for zoomcar booking

I booked zoom car on 8th feb 2018 6:30 am with booking id jps628d29 for 5 hours. I picked up the car early in the morning and it was a self service pickup without presence of any support staff. Due to bad lighting conditions in parking space as it was early in the morning, i didnt thoroughly check the car exterior for any minor scratches and didnt come across any dent visible to naked eyes that i should have brought to zoom car customer care's notice. I picked the car and i can say for sure there wasn't any mishap during my booking duration. After booking completion, i dropped off the car as it was and there was no outstanding dues. A day later, to my surprise i see a pending penalty charge of 5000 rs reflecting on this booking on zoomcar app. I had no clue about these charges and called up the customer care asking for the reason. Finally after 24 hours, they sent me the pics of the scratch on the front part and a minor dent on the rear. I am damn sure, i didnt put those and i dont even know if it was there from before. Customer care expects me to click pics before and after picking the vehicle but nowhere its mentioned in the checklist and i realise that was a mistake i shd have clicked pics but that doesnt entitle them to put false allegations on me. Its their responsibilty to have a service staff be present at spot and monitor the vehicle before/after drop off so that things would be clear. I feel zoomcar is using this loophole to unnecessarily charge the customers. So people please be careful of this and click pictures and check thoroughly to avoid falling in this trap or to be safe compltely avoid using zoom car and go for other car rental services (Even if others charge bit high but they wont trap you like this). Till now zoom car hasnt waived off the false charges and asking to pay off for mistake i didnt commit. I feel cheated and mentally harrassed due to this.

Upon checking we see that one of the representatives has reached out to you and have addressed the escalation raised.

As informed the charges are valid and we are unable to do much in this regard. We will not be able to reverse/ reduce the charges levied on the booking.

I booked Zoom car on 12th Feb 2018 9:30 am with booking ID JPS62H355 for 12 hours. I picked up the car early in the morning and it was a self service pickup with presence of support staff. I checked the car exteriors and found minor scratches on the front, rear and on left door side and did brought to Zoom car support staff's notice.I picked the car and I can say for sure there wasn't any mishap during my booking duration. After booking completion, I dropped off the car as it was and there was no outstanding dues, moreover when i deposited the car i asked the support staff to double check and make sure i am not charged for anything extra, at that time they said everything is ok, we will get it washed from a water tanker and now they are charging me 4000 rs for vehicle damage and 1500 rs for cleaning charges, i don't get it. To my surprise I see a pending penalty charge of 500 rs reflecting on this booking on Zoomcar app after deduction of my 5000 INR refundable deposit. I have no clue about these charges and I feel cheated as they gave me a uncleaned car during raining and on top of that they charged me 1500 RS for cleaning charges, does it take 1500 rs to wash a car which had nothing but dirt on exteriors due to rain.

Now, i want zoom car to refund my complete security amount else will result in cancellation of all future bookings with them, my lot of friends book through zoom car and would never ever suggest anyone to book through them.

I will put a review for this on all social media platforms, will send you guys a legal notice and will keep it raising till the issue is resolved.

This is highly unprofessional behavior which is unexpected and also you will be loosing customers because of doing wrong deductions.

I will ask people not to book Zoom car and can book with other operators like Revv which are far more better.
