[Resolved]  Zoom Car — refundable deposit taken and extra fine charged without any elaboration

We had rented a zoomcar on 15th september from 1pm to 9:30pm and got 135kms free.
We had picked up the car at around 1:10pm at garuda swagath mall, jayanagar. The cars were located at the basement of the parking of the mall which was very poorly lit.
Once we took the car out of the basement parking we found out that there was a small crack on the front windshield..
This crack was not visible from outside and was instead clearly visible from the inside. We immediately felt it was required to take a video once we reached a well lit place outside the mall. The video was taken at 1:15pm.

Now after the trip, when we came to return the car at the mall, it was around 8:30pm and well before time. The field executive was very rude and charged us a fine of rs. 5000 for damaging the windscreen for which we had not committed. He was not ready to speak with us and instead told us to call the customer service helpline number, who also was very impolite. It looked like they all were connected and were doing a scam.
We had paid an amount of rs. 3000/- as a refundable deposit and they have taken this amount and told us to pay an outstanding due of rs. 2000/- extra.

Please help us in getting back our deposit and removing the fine amount.

Greetings!

Based on all the details shared we did recheck on the damage charges levied on the booking. As per our records maintained by our ground team, we understand that the damage was not present at the time of vehicle delivery. Also, we did check the video shared and we are unable to find any crack on the windshield.

We regret we will not be able to reverse/reduce the damage charges added to the booking.
