[Resolved] Zoom Car — unnecessary damage charge imposed | |||||
Rented a scorpio mh14fc4119, on 24/8. Drove 150 kms approx, when the car broke down on 25/8 11.00 hrs (Suspected clutch plate/gear box issue) amidst a jungle (No mobile signal). Complaint logged at 13.00hrs, towing car arrived 26/8 morning. Spent rs10500 over and above the booking amount but was falsely charged a damage fee of rs10000, due to breakdown. Mechanical issue can crop up any time, but zoom car should have ensured proper servicing before issuing the vehicle, which should not have broken down within 150 hrs of driving, however horrible be the style of driving and road conditions. Atleast their charging a damage fee of rs10000 as per policy must be intervened legally. Also not sure how they will handle the replacement costs of service amounting to rs10500, borne by self.
