I booked a car rental via the Zoomcar app and paid the money upfront as is the requirement. However, when I contacted the host via call, he denied his car citing that he had ongoing issues with Zoomcar company and that I would have to cancel the booking from my side. I then did cancel the booking from my side expecting a refund as I had been denied the car by the host. On calling Zoomcar help portal, they told me they couldn’t refund my money as I had not intimated them before cancelling. There is no option of intimation to the company on the app that they have provided. I was fleeced and now I do not get a refund.
Zoomcar's policies are unfairly advantageous to car hosts and there is no customer protection available for genuine customers. Unscrupulous car hosts have realised the loopholes and are taking advantage of the same and there is an entire business ecosystem surrounding this. Zoomcar customer care is least concerned about this and the matter never reaches the top management. It may be that they are also involved in this modus operandi.
Please beware about this before booking a car from Zoomcar or for that matter any other car rental company. Was this information helpful? |
