Zoomcar — No refund amount raised after car breakdown

Greetings!

This is Himanshu Kalwani, a frequent Zoomcar user but this time i have really been disappointed by the car I received on my last trip.

The break of the car was making noises from the start and when we completed close to 390 kms (Kalyan to Vadodara) with the car we noticed that the steel part inside both the front tyres were really hot and were leaving fumes.

We had to take a detour to my relatives place in Vadodara and at night 3 we were forced to leave the Zoomcar behind and book a private car because obviously we cannot amend our journey dates because of some fault in the car which existed even before we started our journey.

Further, my relative took the car for mechanical checking the next day and it turns out that the car hasn’t been serviced properly and that the break liners and break pads of both the front tyres were completely worn out.

Breaks are the most basic and crucial parts of a car to be serviced and maintained. Anything could have had happened to the breaks while we were on road at 80-100 km per hour and I think the consequences of that are self explanatory to Zoomcar.

Lastly, I would like to mention that I have raised 2 bills on my Zoomcar account,

1. Rupees 9, 000/- for the repair charges of the car.
2. Rupees 14, 160/- (with taxes) for the private car along with the driver that we had to hire as we obviously couldn’t put our trip to a halt because of professional misconduct by Zoomcar.

Further, it is to be noted that I was promised a refund of cab transport to the pickup location of the car since the car was changed
at last moment. I am not raising any bill for the same because I get that this is already a lot for Zoomcar to incur.

My trip had ended on 7th June and it’s been 1 week since i have sent all the requests documents to zoomcar on mail.

I have called multiple times on their helpline number everytime i was told that I’ll get a call back in 24 hours, in 6 hours but I never did.

I cannot understand what the delay is about.

The following are the documents sent by me on mail to zoomcar:

1. Multiple photos of car Ertiga MH 05 EA 8046 getting repaired at an authorised service centre in Vadodara.

2. Bill of Rupees 9, 000/- for the repair of the car.

3. Bill of Rupees 14, 160/- of the private car we had to hire due to the unwanted circumstances.
