On May 19 2019, we had purchased 2 Sony 32W672F TVs from Kohinoor Electronics, Malad West along with Zopper's 4 years extended warranty for both the TVs and the serial nos. of extended warranty are 338667 and 338668. One TV started displaying random lines in Sept 2021 making the TV unusable. Since it was out of Sony's warranty, we called Zopper on 25th Sept and the complaint no. was 74386. The person came, checked the TV and took the TV in his car to Vasai for repairs. They took 15 days to repair and deliver the TV back. It was working fine but again within a month of repair, the display started showing the same random lines rendering the TV unusable yet again. We called Zopper again on 26th Oct and the complaint no. was 79067. This time some other person came and took the TV in some Tempo to their Andheri workshop. Both the times when they took the TV, they did not provide us any receipt neither after delivery, no receipt was given. The second time they took 4 months to deliver our TV! During these 4 months, we used to regularly call their customer care for status but they were not giving us proper info. They were just fooling around with us with new excuses every time. Some or the other new person used to pick up every time and when enquired about the previous person with whom we spoke, they would just say that he/she is on leave or left the company and we had to repeat the situation again to this new person. They will just say that will check status and get back to us but not even a single time they called us back with an update. We were very worried because we feared they did something wrong with our TV which they are not openly telling us. We even asked them patiently to tell us frankly if anything is wrong with our TV or if they are not able to repair it so that we can get it repaired elsewhere. Then we were in touch with a lady called Hiran and she always gave us excuse saying that this TV model is outdated and they were not able to get the required part hence getting delayed. How can a 2018 manufactured product from reputed brand like Sony become outdated and stop making parts of it? Then too we kept waiting and meanwhile we got in touch with the person who had taken our TV to workshop to know the reality. He said he is not working with them anymore because it was not employee friendly organisation and on our request, he also told us the workshop location. He even mentioned that workers are not being paid well hence they just work haphazardly resulting in late deliveries. Since there was no sign of our TV getting delivered, we finally decided to visit the workshop but then out of surprise for the first time Zopper called back saying our TV is ready and will be delivered tomorrow. We received the TV in February 2022 after 4 months and were under the impression that since it took such a long time this time it must have got repaired properly. However out of our surprise, the same random lines started appearing on the screen yet again within 15 days! Since renovation was going on at our home, we waited for it to get completed first before calling Zopper again. Meanwhile during renovation, we also got all electric sockets checked for any electricity fluctuation just to be sure that it might not be the reason for our TV's problem. However electricians checked everything properly and assured that everything is fine and no fluctuations are there. After our home renovation was complete, we called Zopper. However they have now unregistered our number! We are not able to speak to any representative because it says that the mobile no. is not registered with any product! Hence with no other option, we called Sony Customer Care on 27th April 2022 and told them everything and since it was out of warranty, we also agreed to bear any repair charges. The same day technician came, opened the TV panel and told us that the display has gone. He will change the display in front of our eyes within a week without taking the TV and exact cost will be told to us over call in 2 days. We paid Rs.2000 to him in advance. The Sony representative called exactly after two days on 29th April and told the cost of replacement will be Rs.11346. We agreed and the same day technician came, changed the display panel the TV in front o[censored]s and also gave warrantty of 1 year. My TV is working fine now.

What the Sony technician told us when he checked the TV was very shocking for us! He said that Zopper has literally done nothing. The barcodes on the parts are the same which came with TV. Moreover, Zopper cannot take our TV out of our home. As per proceduce, Zopper has to call Sony and their technician will come and fix the TV in front of our eyes just like the way how we directly called Sony this time. This was really very shocking for us. How did Zopper bypass their procedure and took away our TV to unknown workshops? Moreover who are those technicians, how are they related to Zopper and what did they do by keeping our TV twice collectively for 5 months? Did they just keep our TV for so long waiting for it to start working on its own so that they can deliver it claiming they repaired it?

The above case is a sure shot case of cheating and fraud. They bypassed their authorised proceduce of contacting Sony and replacing the damaged part it in front o[censored]s but instead took our TV to bogus workshops in the hands o[censored]nknown people without giving any receipt and also without repairing our TV.

Despite having Zopper's 'bogus' extended warranty, we had to incur a total expenditure of Rs.11346 for replacing our TV display panel because we were prevented from contacting Zopper because our mobile no. was deregistered by them before the completion of 4 years.

Since I was at my workplace, it was my Father who is a senior citizen doing continous follow ups with them. It has costed us our energy, time, mental peace and money. We wasted our money twice - first by purchasing their 'bogus' warranty, second - we had to pay Sony to get it repaired despite being covered under Zopper's bogus warranty!

We want Zopper to refund our expenses of purchase of extended warranty of both the TVs amounting to Rs. 9650 in total + the expenses incurred for getting the TV screen repaired from Sony amounting to Rs. 11346 in total. We would also like an additional compensation of Rs.25000 for wasting our time, energy and keeping our TV for 5 months at unknown places and in the hands o[censored]nknown people causing us mental trauma!
