I am a post paid customer and have been using Airtel Post paid connection for last one year. I have been facing a lot of problems ever since i got my post paid connection (09932087961) started. I have given lot of complaints as well. ( call interruption, call tapping, poor billing system and the like) . I paid my airtel bill always in a prompt fashion despite these problems every time. Of late, I felt that, the problems with Airtel post paid is not getting sorted out permanently so that it is better to switch over to pre paid connection. I approached Customer Care executives for necessary directions and they in turn told me that there is no problem for converting a post paid number to prepaidlife time connection without changing the existing number. They rightly explained to me the procedures that I got to follow for the same.
But, contrary to my expectations, when I approached the local Airtel outlet here in Portblair, they told me that in Andman Nicobar Islands it is not possible to have the above mentioned conversion. I was surprised to here this.Is it my mistake to work in Andaman? What is so wrong with Andaman ? Why are your company's policies often becoming detrimental to customers? If I say that I have got a policy that " Since my post paid is not getting converted into prepaid i wouldnt pay the due amount".. would you accept that ? A comapny's policy should always be favouring the customers ? is it not? Every other mobile companies in and around Andman is giving this facility and why can't Airtel give the same ? I have given this number to all my relatives, friends and colleagues and you people wanted me to give another number to them once againand spending anothe lot of bucks all over again ?
You post paid connection and confusing executives and professionas have harrased me enough and subsequently my social image has been tarnished. You company and its whims and fancies have destroyed my mental peace and solace

i had made a request for conversion of my postpaid connection to prepaid in the mid of Jan 2008 but even as of today (26 March 08) the connection has not been activated. i have submitted documents twice already and each time i visit Airtel relationship center i am told that the connection will be activated within 2 days.I am extremely frustrated with the incompetence of the said personnel. Please look into the matter.

Hi This is vijay kumar from navi mumbai. In last month(Sept. 08) Sabeena call from Airtel and told me about monthly plan. Then send one collection boy at my home. I have given him 599/ Rs. cash and My pan card & electricity bill copy.
But still i am using prepaid. I have lunched complaint at vashi airtel service center but no body called up for anything.

I have two connection with airtel one is prepaid and the other is postpaid . However since last six months i am tying to change my postpaid connection to prepaid but it is realy hard to explain you people because whenever i am trying to change it through phone or via service centre i am not getting any results for they say that i have not lodge any request for it . but this is my last warning to u people . if u cannot please reply that u cannot because i don`t mind changing my both numbers to other company . I am alreay satisfied with vodafone and idea. I have other connection with them and my no. is 9769664268.

Telephone disconnection/ non adjustment of prepaid balance on postpaid conversion - Airtel
I had taken a corporate connection 9810966055 last week, God knows how the verification was done, they disconnected the number, and then they said because there was a previous balance of Rs 527/- on account of a previous number they had disconnected it.
Now the story regarding that Rs 527/- is rather interesting. Few months back, I used to have a prepaid connection of airtel, the number was 9871553143 (Month of August 2008)
It had a prepaid balance of Rs. 400, trans id 1660065399. I got that converted into postpaid and then corporate. That number was also disconnected because of verification problems. I did a lot of correspondence with the erstwhile nodal officer, Aarti Handa but with no results.
I left the number because I could not spend so much of time without results.
Now I still have no problems to pay that amount but, the balance Rs 400 which was not adjusted in the bill should be adjusted, and both the numbers should resume.
I have had enough trouble and I feel that airtel officers including the verification executives don’t aim at resolving the problem.
I am working in HCL INFOSYSTEMS LTD. I have one connection with postpaid cug H 15 (hcl). However since last one month back i change my postpaid connection to prepaid. but i am not satisfied with that connaction.so i want to convert my number into postpaid. i ask to your in my nearest airtelshoroom but it is realy hard to explain you people because whenever i am trying to change it through phone or via service centre i am not getting any results for they say that i have not lodge any request for it . but this is my last request to u people . if u cannot please reply that u cannot because i don`t mind changing my numbers to other company . WHY AGAIN ADRESS VERIFICATION FOR CONVERSION FROM POST PAID CONNECTION TO PREPAID CONNECTION.
WHERE TO GO IF CUSTOMER CARE IS NOT ABLE TO SOLVE AND SATISFY OUR QUERIES?
I have been a customer of AIRTEL for the past two years. My mobile no is 9790015838. I had a post paid connection. On recent analysis, i found that prepaid is far more cheper than post paid. So,I put a request at an airtel customer care center to convert my post paid conection to prepaid.
This was done around three months back. There they asked for proof, i submitted my DRIVING LICENCE photocopy.
After two days, i got a call that i am supposed to change the prepaid sim, which the customer care executive have given to me. They said " You have been given a wrong SIM, get a TAMILNADU sim, you have been given a chennai SIM by mistake"
Then i went the same cutomer care centre and got the sim changed.
After aroound one month, my prepaid SIM got active.And for that month i got a post paid bill.
Till now no big problems.
Suddenly on 27or 28 of november 09, my SIM was barred, no incoming calls and no out going calls. I called customer care. They said "your documents have not been submitted". I was really annoyed, at this reply because i have already submtted the documents at the customer care centre. Next day was sunday, so no solution on that day. On monday, i went to the customer care centre and they asked me to submit the proof again. I submitted the proof again.
Now, today again i got the message that my services have been barred.
In this situation where to go and what to do.
THE IRONY IS, I HAVE THE SAME NUMBER AND HAVE BEEN USING IT FOR AROUND 2YEAR.

Change of Post Paid Connection to Pre Paid connection - AirTel
On 24-Mar-2010 at 1100 hrs, when I checked my Mobile it displayed a message INACTIVE SIM. Assuming that I the SIM might have got dislocated I tried refixing the sim again and again. At 1300 hrs, I called up customer care to register the complain. Here I was informed that my SIM was deactivated because my plan was changed from POST Paid to PRE paid. I was shocked and asked the lady to transfer my call to escalation team. Here the escalation officer informed me that my sim card got blocked because of some technical issue and would take 24 hrs to fix it. Since I do not have any other source of contact, I want my service to be restarted immediately within half hour or pay me a compensation of Rs 1000 for every hour of delay in providing the services.
