[Resolved]  Idea Telecom — Poor GPRS Service with Bad Customer Care

Once a long time ago I have been using unlimited Airtel Mobile Office service to activate internet in my laptop through mobile phone. But it suddenly has been withdrawn from the service. Now it is available but no more unlimited, and only 15 mb free download for 1 day pack, while for weekly pack 90 mb is freely downloadable.
Thereby I shifted to Idea from Airtel which offers free unlimited GPRS download but very poor in speed. It charges Rs. 24 for 1 day pack (Rs. 3 extra for activation message). In this way I used 3 times 1 day pack without any trouble by just recharging with Rs. 50 ( talktime Rs. 45 or something). But the problem appeared on 4th time when I had balance of Rs. 30.31 p, and was trying to activate 1 day GPRS pack of Rs. 24. I sent thrice message to activate it, but same reply of "Your request will be confirmed through SMS shortly" with 3 times. It passed more than 1 hour but alas no activation. So I called customer care executive for 2 times, and both replied the reason as to must have of minimum balance of Rs. 45 to activate 1 day pack of GPRS or else not possible.
So I thought of cancelling GPRS for that day since I had to go a bit far from my room to easy recharge my number. Instead I decided to send SMS jokes to my 2 friends, and it deducted 2 bucks from my Idea number (now balance remained Rs. 28.31 p). Then I changed the SIM in my phone to TATA Docomo for my usual usage as it offers a pretty good call rates with good tariffs.
After 5 days at afternoon 2:30 PM I again put the Idea SIM in my phone to recharge more balance and activate GPRS for 1 day pack. I was ready to recharge for Rs. 30 or more so that it will have enough balance of more than Rs. 45. But the WORST THING HAPPENED now, when I on the phone. The balance was simply down from Rs. 28.31 to Rs. 4.31, which means they deducted 24 bucks for 1 day pack of GPRS. How came it happen to be possible if the Customer Care executives replied me as not possible to activate if is below Rs. 45 of balance?
I got enough furious at this time and called to Customer Care again. The CCE replied to me that it shows of having Rs. 28.31 p in my account balance but whereas I can clearly notice of Rs. 4.31 p remaining whenever I dial balance inquiry number. I argued with him for some time about the truth I was experiencing. And finally he replied that my number is still not updated in their system for which they cannot tell the latest account information from their side.
Now my complain is that I never and never faced this kind of experience when I was using Airtel Mobile Office service, even if some minor faults appeared the CCE immediately offered me solution which worked out. In this way I doubt that Idea will ever emerge as top telecommunication brand like Airtel, Reliance and Vodafone if it offers such poor services like this.
Most of my friends (more than 10 friends) say that Idea is the WORST TELECOMMUNICATION SERVICE IN INDIA which was formerly called as the ghatia Spice. Unless the company provide helpful informations with good offers it will never attract customers to appreciate. It is also such a cheap brands (although Sachin is involved he can do nothing other than the service provider itself).
My friends also complain mostly about the informations provided by the Customer Care Executives who are worsely trained with their unpleasing behaviors. They cannot give proper solution or proper response at the time required.
I hope nobody face the experience that I got myself in future. It will happen only if you avoid o[censored]sing Idea SIM cards, which is far behind Airtel, Vodafone, Tata Docomo or Reliance.
Hands down for Idea brand which is very very backward in good services.
Last fact, one my friend had taken 2 new Idea SIM cards but has not yet been activated for over 20 days. He argued countless times with the Customer Care without any solutions. Now anybody can guess how horrible this network service is. So to everyone, please AVOID Idea if you want good services.

I totally agree with u. This is a damn mobile service...the most hopeless in india. Below average in its quality.
