[Resolved]  Indian Railways — HARRASSMENT BY RAILWAY BOOKING STAFF

Dear sir,
I was issued Rly. warrant from mumbai to Delhi and back, to attend some urgent official meetings, at mumbai it was exchanged but when I went to the ticketing counter at Sarai Rohilla it was not honoured saying that since name of station written in railway warrant was Delhi to Mumbai and it was told by booking clerk that there is no rly station by the name of Mumbai hence it can not be honoured. but it is obvious that all the station (Bandra, Dadar, Mumbai central, borivali etc) comes in mumbai only. Even I met Supervisor Mr. Surender singh who also refuse to honour it saying that if we will honour it there will be audit objection . Eventhough everything was okey but they refused to honoured even the destination was clearely written. if there are multiple stations in a particular city then any of the station will serve the purpose. Due to the refusal by the railways it cause a lot of invonvienence to me. This was due to foolishness of that particular railway staff. I have faced this kind of problem in delhi only, hence i hope necessary instructions will be issued through ur good office in this regard . Thaks with regards MC LAKHERA

Indian Railways — Delayed Refunds

I had booked one e-ticket (for 2 passengers) from the website www.irctc.co.in. by Train No. 2557 Saptkranti Express for 3AC ( from Sagauli Jn(SGL) to New Delhi (NDLS) ) vide PNR No. [protected] on 31.03.2009. The Journey date was 04.04.2009. The ticket for one of the passengers Mrs. Savitri Devi (Female, Age 57 years) was required to be cancelled. In this regard a TDR was filed on 05.04.2009 vide reference number ekt[protected]. It has been 10 months & I have written a number of mails to the the irctc & the standard reply which I receive is enclosed here under.

Dear customer,

Sorry for the inconvenience. Kindly note that your refund case of PNR No. [protected] has been forwarded to CCM/Northern Railway on dt.09.04.09. Refund yet not received from concerned railway, so we are sending a reminder with all the papers pertaining to your refund case to concerned railway on dt. 12.10.09 to chase up the cases. As soon as refund, if any, received it will be credited to your card account.

I fully agree with Mr Satyanarayana M and have faced this problem several times. Rly authorities should
lower the side upper berth to its normal height as the side middle berth has been removed. The side upper
berth in 3tier coaches is very very inconvenient.
lift is necessary. how will the passenger on wheel chair will go over over bridge if ramps are not available
Dear sir,
I went to book ticket at bardhaman stsation(W.B.)(16/02/2010) from burdwan to new delhi. I was standing in line to book the ticket and when we were only last two persons to book the ticket then the reservation clerk told that 'it is 5.00 p.m now', so I am closing the window. We requested him to book the ticket but he was so angry and told us "get lost". So, I have only one question to you"can we expect such type of behavior from the empolyee of your deprtment?"

Indian Railways — No security at reservation center

Will we ever get a fair chance to buy tickets from the reservation counters.

There is never any railway police personnel in reservation center, which are away from railway station. or they take bribe and dont show up in the morning.

The counters opens at 8:00 a.m for reservations. People line up from morning, when the time comes for the gates to open you find the agents mobbing we common people and taking up front rank in the line. Why cant railway put any police force to manage this all before from 6 am onwards.

This is not the case for any particular center this is the story of all places.

When will this stop. Are railways interetsed in stopping this.

I guess this is fall on some deaf ears.
Dear Sir/Madam,

I would like to share my experience of a journey in 2505 North East Express from New Cooch Behar to New Delhi on 20th February, 2010. I was in B2 at birth no. 22.

I ordered egg rice for lunch on 21st February, 2010. I was given double egg and rice and was charged Rs. 45 for that. Several times I asked the pantry car people to show the menu chart and receipt. But, they did not show the menu card and give receipt. I think, it is my right to get receipt against every purchase.

Please consider this mail as complain against them and take necessary steps so that people will not face this type of problem in future.

Railway — Non receipt of goods

Out of 3goods 2 was received on 22/02/2010 but didn't received one good,
I travelled by 1097 Ernakulam Express from Pune to Kanhangad on the 13th of February.
The reservation of ticket is:

When I boarded the train at Pune station, I was not comfortable with the atmosphere in the 3A coach. The TTE arrived and I told him of the problem. He asked whether I would like to be upgraded to 2A and that there were two side berths only. I was agreeable to the upgradation. He marked berths 47 and 48 in A1 coach and asked me to proceed there. All this happened at 11.30 pm, close to midnight.

At about 11.45 pm, the TTE came and asked for Rs.1500. I was shocked and surprised because I thought it was a normal upgradation to vacant seats in 2A. Nevertheless, it was not prepared for an argument at midnight and I was too tired and sleepy. I gave him the money.

He came back ten minutes later and gave me a receipt and told me that he will give me the balance. Then he did not come. Next morning I found a new TTE and I was told that there was change of duty at Miraj at about 5 in the morning. There disappeared my balance money!

Now comes to the calculation part. The TTE had calculated difference in fare and excess fare etc and had given receipt for Rs.900. I do not know how he came to such a figure. According to me:

Rs.1219 is the fare I had paid for the berths in 3A vide the above PNR [protected]
Rs. 900 is the excess collected from me vide receipt No.B620231 dated 13.2.2010 towards dif ference in fare
Rs.2119 is the total paid
Rs.1667 is the fare for the two o[censored]s in 2A according to the figure available in internet
Rs.452 is therefore the amount excess collected from me and so due to me from the Railways
Rs.600 is the amount due to me from the TTE

Is there any way I can get the above amounts?

Dear Sir,
I boarded the Sampark Kranti Exp at Yeshwantpur on 28/02/2010 scheduled to depart at 22.10 hours. there was no lighting till 22.00 hrs.in our S2 coach. After the lights were turned on we started searching for berths. but berth Nos.39,41 and 42 were missing. It is clear from the numbers dispalyed there that earlier there were 3 berths on the side also.but now it is converted in to 2 side berths and the new berth numbers were not marked correctly. For ex. on the side berths 38 is marked as lower and 40 as upper. 39 is missing.each berth had at least 2 three markings.so there was lot of confusion and we were waiting for the Ticket examiner to clear the confusion. but to our dismay, we did not see any ticket examiner till we got down from the train at Kacheguda at 08.25 on 01/03/2010.

As there was lot of confusion we did not get any seats till 12.00 a.m .when everybody settled, we found 2 unoccupied berths at 12.00 a.m and we occupied.

Then at 05.30 A.M.,3 Hizras entered to our coach with colours and liquid colours and started waking up the passengers one by one and threatening to drouse them with colours and demanding money. then every body had to forcefully contribute Rs.10 per head.this clearly shows lack of security on the trains. till 08.25 a.m when we got down at kacheguda, we did not see even a single Ticket examiner or security person.

I have booked my bike and 2 sacks from Ernakulam junction (kerala) on 25th feb 2010 towards Ankleshwar junction (gujarat) and i traveled from ernakulam junction to ankleshwar junction on 26th feb via Okha express, train no. 6338.staff asked me to pay Rs.250 4 bike loading and 150 for loading of 2 sacks worth 20kg each, but i havnt paid them 400 anyhow i paid Rs. 100 after a long arguments and all, but now its 3rd of march and i havnt received anything till now, i went to ankleshwar junction many times but they told they cant do anything and i havnt found any site for enquiry please tell my what to do and how to trace my bike and booked luggage???my receipt no. is 857932.please help me out as soon as possible, hope to hear positive reply from you soon...

I fully agree with your complaint and incidentaly, I may mention that I am also a victim of railways system. I booked 2 tickets from Delhi to Bareilly for 21.11.2007 vide PNR No. [protected] and due to abnormal delay of train (about 6 hours) I got it cancelled by sending mail to irctc/railways since on the very next day, I was about to come back by morning train (About 5.00 AM) and practically it was not possible for me to come back by that train after travelling from Delhi to Bareilly by 6 hours running late train. Surprisingly, till date I am following up the case with railways for refund but unable to get. Rather, railways has indicated that the journey has been performed and on the other hand, through one of the documents sent to me by railways itself, it is very much clear that the journey has not been performed. I have been demanding for vigilance enquiry and refund but every time I get a self-generated reply that your case has been registered and it will take "Minimum 90 days time", means I have to wait at least for 90 days after every communication and perhaps there is no maximum time limit for railways... Dhanya hai Railways... Afterall everybody (including Railways) has full right to deal in the manner they desire.

Indian Railways — Non availability of shelter at Basin Bridge station

Sir I would like to bring to the kind notice of the Department authorities that in the Basis Bridge Station (BBQ) the platform connecting to Gumudipoondi section does not have any facility of shelter for the poor public standing there, and it is very severe during the rainy season and the hot summer. It is very much necessary to address this problem immediately. Hope the concerned department shall initiate action.

Indian Railways — Complaint against the tkt inspector

Dear Sir,
It was not possible to escape as the fists of corruption were so tightly clenched that it forced me to give up.I was travelling with my family and friends family by uttar sampark kranti (2445) from New Delhi to Udhampur on 25.02.2010. I got three seperate e-tickets with us and the Id's as required.One of the e-tickets in the name of Mr.Vivek Kumar and Mrs. Neetu Coach No.B4 with seat No.37 & 38 with PNR No.[protected]. When the chief ticket inspector came and checked our tickets and Id's, he observed that in the abovesaid e-ticked the gender of Mrs. Neetu was by mistake entered as male though she is a female. The inspector told us that in this case she is considered as without ticket. We also showed him our return e-tickets for 01.03.2010 with the female gender, but he said that he is not interested in that ticket.And then he told us he will cut a new ticket Rs.900 plus amount. I would also like to inform that the inspector had a badge without his name printed on it, only the chief inspector tkt was mentioned on his white colour badge, the only indentification we have is that he was a sikh with a turban and a healthy built-up body. Then he demanded for Rs. 500 if we don't want to cut the new ticket. The amount was not much and it would not make any difference to me in the long run. But I think he should have considered the mistake after checking the return ticket with PNR No. [protected].It was our first experience in bribing and that too when we had a ticket to travel. I do not know it is even worth to tell this tale to anyone but I am certain now that tomorrow it will loom large when I have to face many such instances. May be after 10yrs I have to offer Rs.20, 000 and may be Rs.2, 00, 000 after 20 years, so if nothing else it can definitely be new definition of my vision 2020.
Though I am writing this complaint but keeping in mind the behaviour and open demand of the inspector I feel that no action will be taken against him, but only have some faith in god and Indian Railways.

Western Railway — Cockroaches in the Coach

I travel through Saurashtra Express daily from Vadodara to Ahmedabad. The general-Ladies coach of the train has too many cocroaches that come out due to heat. They are huge in number and it is a big nuisance. Some action needs to be taken on an immidiate basis.

TODAY MORNING I HAVE FACED SUCH PROBLEM AS I WENT TO HAZARAT NIZAMUDIN STN AND I WANT TO BOOK A TICKET FROM PATTAMBI TO NIZAMUDIN ON 26TH JUNE THROUGH 2617 MANGLA LAKASHDEEP BUT THE BOOKING CLERK MAZOOR HAVE TOTALY IGNORED TO BOOK THE TICKET AND TOLD 2617 IS NOT RUNNNING THAT DAY I.E 26/6/10, ON THE SAME TIME I HAVE NOTICED HE IS GETTING A CALL FROM THE TRAVEL AGENTS AND THEY ARE BOOKING THEIR TICKETS AND FLATLY IGNORED TO BOOK THE TICKET. THERE IS NO SYSTEM IN RAILWAYS HOW THE BOOKING CLERKS ARE DELAING WITH PUBLIC AND HARRASING.

I want to inform you that i belongs to Nagina, Ditt.-Bijnor (WUP), station code NGG. Here always I have face a problem that there is no staff for prepare sheet confirmation chart against PNR status. I have always faced this problem.

So please do something for the solution.

Indian Railways — Wrong berth information on Sampark Kranti trains

The Sampark kranti express which runs from Delhi to patna has 9 seats in a coach, but the seat number issued in the ticket is for 8 seats in a coach of 3 - Tier.

If an elderly person reserves a ticket for lower berth, say seat number 9, he will actually get the Side Upper berth according the seating arrangement there.

Same would be happening with other trains with similar arrangements.

Its actually a fraud done by Ministry of railways giving us printed tickets with wrong berth information.

Indian Railways — WRONG INFORMATION BY 139

This is to bring to your kind notice the problem i faced during my planned travel from Lucknow to Aligarh.
I was scheduled to travel from Lucknow to Aligarh on 31.3.2010 through train number 4025,Kaifiyat Express whose scheduled departure for Lucknow is 23.15.

When conatcted on 139 at 21.15 ,i was told by the represenative that the train is delayed by 24 minutes from its scheduled departure .Following this i chose to reach late to the railway station as it made no sense waiting at the platform.

Just to recheck whether the train has further delayed i called up 139 again at 22.30 and was again told that the train is delayed by 24 minutes.

However when i reached the station at around 23.25, i found that the train has already departed on its scheduled time and it was not only me who had suffered and befooled on relying on informatio through 139.

This was not only astonishing but also very unfortunate to see such carelessness and lack luster atitude by the people at 139 enquiry.

Something which was more horrifying was that on contacting the station commercial for this goo[censored]p i was told that this keeps on happening and it is wise that one does not rely on information through them.

My concern and query to the department is that where should the customer go to get the right information ,because the railway contact number 131 is either not in service or is not answered even after several attempts.

I hold the department resposible for the pain i have suffered by missing my train and taking an alternate route to travel from Lucknow-Kanpur-Hathras-Aligarh.

Would want that the ticket amount is refunded and transfered to my saving account number as under and the concerned department is penalised for there carelessness so that this does not happen with other people using the rail service.
