[Resolved]  Paramount Airways — Lethargic and non reciporcative customer service

Dear Sir

I had booked on 3rd July 2009 from Chennai to Hyderabad on flight no. 17643 departing at 06.25 am.
I was present at the airport the previous midnight asking if the flight was on time at the counter and the reply given was positive. On 3rd early morning, the staff of paramount airways did not open the counter till 5.30 a.m. and a big queue of passengers were standing with tension. At 5.45 am. cooly one employee was informing the cancellation of the flight where there was no proper response from any of the paramount staff for the tension of the passengers who had to reach their destination to attend meeting, hospital etc. There were some seats available in Kingfisher, but due to the neglicent and careless behaviour of paramount staff, the counter of the kingfisher also closed. I cannot understand how can an airline staff open the counter just 45 minutes before the departure and cooly inform the cancellation of the flight. When the passengers questioned, they were very cool in saying it is due to the rain they cannot reach the destination. We were given seats in IC which reached Hyderabad at 9.30 am, due to which I had lost a big commitment and had incurred loss. I need paramount airways to given an explanation for this as well compensation immediately. This shows how paramount airways operates under Indian skies. They are really Un-professionall and show little or less care towards their customers. I hope the concerned authorities do rectify their mistakes and change their arrogant attittudes in the near future.

Subject: Re: Missed Flight - Paramount Ticket No.[protected] for Flight No.I7802 scheduled to depart at 1325 from Kolkata Airport

Dear Sir/Madam

This has reference to your e-ticket no.[protected] as mentioned below.

Please note that I need your strict intervenance and justice based on my experience with your operations staff at Kolkata Airport. Please note that whatever I have mentioned hereunder is true to the fullest of my knowledge, conscience and honesty.

[protected][protected][protected][protected]

- My name is Ashok Srinivas Dokka (Ashok S Dokka) and was at the airport at about 1145 am and checked with the counter staff Mr Biswadip if this flight was on time. He replied "No" and it was delayed by 40 minutes due to delay of the returning aircraft.
- I had, however, havd my check-in performed by Mr Arshad Iqbal and Ms. Tomosha at about 1205 pm approximately. You may please verify the records.

- I finished my security check and also my hand baggage was tagged with your company tag.

- I had entered into the departure gate lounge just after the Security Handling Area and was waiting there until 1355, where, I noticed that the gate showing the flight number I7802 and another Kingfisher Flight. However, found that all "boarding now" green lights were blinking where as I7802 flight departure gate was empty and did not see a blinking sign which obviously indicated that the boarding was not on. I could not see any Paramount personnel around that area who could assist me.

- In the previous instance at about 1350 hrs approximately, I asked Ms Tomosha who was present at the departure gate, as to when could the boarding start and she said "please wait, sir, we would announce the boarind shortly".

- After that, to my dismay, it was at about[protected] hrs, when I was panicked and started asking the other flight operators staff about Paramount's staff, suddenly, three of your staff came to me and said "sir, your flight has already been closed for boarding and it has taken off, but, sir, we have been calling you on your mobile phone, but, it was switched off", which is false.

- I did not receive any incoming call from your operations people. I can even provide you with the information to prove that this statement from your staff was completely ambiguous and false.

- It was to my surprise, that to my clear conscience and hearing abilities, neither could I hear any announcements whatsoever, for a last boarding call, as these three member staff claimed, nor, did anyone come looking for any last passengers left in the boarding area who were unaware of the boarding calls or last calls for passengers, or, could I locate my fellow passengers who were in queue to board the flight.

- Arguments started thereafter, bewtween your staff and myself, as we were busy trying to figure out what happened and all of a sudden I realise that my baggage was not off loaded from the airplane and Mr Biswadeep courteously suggested that since my baggage was flown out without me, I should purchase another ticket on another airline to reach Chennai and pick up my baggage from your Paramount office in Chennai as soon as my other flight lands in Chennai.

- Upon continuously insisting that I needed a copy of my boarding pass, they managed to give me a copy, as per the enclosed *.jpg file, however, the reverse of the boarding pass where my baggage check-in receipt was stuck, was not taken or provided.

- Mr Pratap Singh, was very annoying and arrogant, stating that "I should be ready there near the gate for boarding and that their staff was looking for me and that I did not report on time".

- In the previous instance of the episode, I did not meet any of these staff at the boarding gate area except for Ms. Tomosha, who was the only staff available at the time when I enquired about the departure announcement, and later, even she was missing from the gate.

- Your staff cancelled the ticket under the category "no show at gate" and showed me a receipt for a refund of only Rs.3, 714.00 credited back into my Credit Card account.

- I quietly argued as per my right of action and freedom of speech, that I was well on time for the flight, the flight got delayed by 40 minutes and then, even upon clearing all check-in and security formalities, I was left behind for no reason and that my baggage had flown out of Kolkata on the same flight, therefore, I needed a full refund of the money I paid to acquire this ticket, which was Rs. 7, 199.00 as on the date of purchase.

- Mr Pratap Singh and Mr Iqbal both promised that they would do their best in getting the full fare refund, which means, there was some hitch somewhere on your operations personnel, which even until now remains a mystery, which made me miss my flight.

- Later, I purchased my ticket on Spice Jet SG 324 for Rs. 6, 528.00 and was set to fly at 1700 hrs and eventually got delayed and landed in Chennai at about 2015 hrs.

- Upon landing at Chennai Airport, two of your staff Mr Hussain and Mr Bharat Kumar were polite enough to locate my baggage from their office and give it to me.

- Soon after I received the bag, I have taken a picture of this baggage along with the baggage screening security tag of Paramount's, for the purpose of lodging a complaint with your authorities, demanding why my baggage was not off loaded when I was left behind. I have not got the copy of the hind sinde of the boarding pass was not given to me.

- Today I receive a call from Mr Pratap Singh from Kolkata stating that he checked with your reservations or some higher ups and he politely apologised for not having acceded to my request of full fare refund.
[protected][protected][protected][protected][protected][protected][protected]
Now, based on the above incident and background of the information submitted to you, would you please let me know the following.

- Why was that my baggage was flown without my presence on the flight?.

- If my baggage was off loaded at Kolkata airport, then, I could have gone back and stayed overnight or taken another cheaper mode of transportation, instead of rushing to Chennai just for the baggage, by paying another additional Rs. 6, 528.00 to SpiceJet.

- The sole purpose of chosing your airline service was for the fact that I had attend to a University Alumni meet which was scheduled to be held from 1730 hrs - 2100 hrs on the evening of 25th of January 2010, and, unfortunately, I could not attend to it too. My whole day was spoilt intially because of the delay of your flight from 1325 to 1405 hrs and eventually I had to miss my flight inspite being at the boarding area.

- Especially, why did your staff at your Kolkata Airport were polite to state that it was my mistake and vehemently harped on their point that they had done their job perfectly and immaculately. They were politely trying to escape from their faults, pushing the blame to me and making me bare the brunt for their incompetence.

I have enclosed all details (copy of my boarding pass, canellation and refund statement, hand carry baggage tag, air ticket purchased with Spice Jet and also photo of my baggage with your security seal ((post screening at the x-ray area) taken on arrival at Chennai airport in front of your operations staff Mr Hussain and Mr Bharat Kumar at 2044 hrs on 25.01.2010.

I hold your Kolkata staff responsible for the following.

- successfully cancelling my ticket at their own whim and fancy and convincing me that if I had not done this, then, I would have lost all money and only that a mere Rs. 229.00 would be refunded.
- providing me no comfort or redressal or with no or minimum information on the questions I asked, and trying to reitrate the whole episode in a similar fashion and trying to conclude and prove that I was wrong and solely holding me responsible for having missed my flight.
- in continuously arguing that when all other 45 passengers were on board, why was I left alone. In my opinion, this should be the question from my side in order to point out your staff's responsibility to ensure all guests/passengers are on board, because each of them have purchased a ticket and have the right know any or all reasons for being left behind or conveniently being branded as "No show at Gate" passenger.
- in not providing a proper reason, upon questioning as to why my baggage was not offloaded, when, the person/owner of the baggage was not on board.

My greivances and request for an amiable settlement.

- This is my first time I chose to fly with Paramount owing to the convenience of timing of this particular flight, which would enable me to be presnt in Chennai on time for my meeting as mentioned previously and also which provided a much better seating arrangement than other airlines, however, now, this incident has created such a bad taste in me now.
- Is Paramount willing to accept any mistake on its part, at all?.
- Is there going to be a full fare refund of this ticket?.
- Is there a customer service officer/senior officer at your customer greivances redressal cell, who could assist me on this?.
- Im not going to succumb to a loss of precious time and money because of your staff's inability to serve your passengers right.

So, I need full and un-biased justice by offering me a full fare refund based on the genuinty/veracity of the information. PLEASE ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT NO SANE PERSON ON THIS FACE OF THIS EARTH WOULD SPEND MONEY PURCHASING A HIGH FARE TICKET AND PURPOSEFULLY MISS HIS FILGHT AND MAKE AN ISSUE OUT OF THIS. REASON FOR CHOOSING YOUR AIRLINE WAS CLEARLY STATED IN THE EARLIER PART OF THIS LETTER/EMAIL.

Hope that you or your higher ups or whoever is responsible, would look into this matter seriously and suitably close this issue amiably, with all smiles, as urgently as possible.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Best Regards
Ashok S Dokka
