To,
The Director General Of Police
Kolkata.
(West Bengal)

Dear Sir,
This is my humble request to you to instruct the concerned area police station to investigate and recovery of my suitcase which was lost. (As I was not aware with whom to lodge this complaint. I have forwarded the same to your good self.)

INCIDENT : I attended a marriage on 28/1/07 at

Sri Agrasen Bhavan,
Kalyaneshwari road,
Post Office Barakar,
Dist: Burdwan (W.B)
Phone No:[protected].

The marriage party bus was parked outside the venue mentioned above.

The Bus NO : WB-41C-0226 it belonged to:

M/s Minu Travels
140,G.T. Road,
Baidyabati,
Dist- Hooghly
(Near Bengal Cold Storage)
Phone:[protected]R) ,[protected]Off.)
Mobile:[protected] , [protected] (Contact person :Mr. Ranjit Roy)

After keeping luggage of other marriage party members my suitcase was also kept in the luggage compartment at the rear of the bus. We left Barakar for Baidyabati in that bus around 3.00 am of 29/1/07. In the middle of the journey we experienced a jerk before BNR Mod (Asansol) and found that the door of the luggage compartment was open. On checking whether the luggage was intact, I found my suitcase was missing. On inquiring with the driver and khalasi of the bus it was confirmed that the lock of the dickey was not functioning properly.

I doubt if the suitcase went missing after the jerk, as I strongly feel it must have gone missing at the beginning of the journey itself. The explanation (The suitcase might have fallen on the way) given by the bus driver and khalasi is not at all convincing. How they can deploy a bus which is not fit for safety of the passengers luggage? It is an act of gross-negligence and confirms the deficiency of service
on there part.

There is a clue to help you investigate into the matter, is my cell phone which was also in the suitcase.
The IMEI number of the phone is : [protected], Item number : 0032938, Make : Nokia 2310, Color : Silver, Connection – Airtel(Chennai), Number : [protected] in the name of Rajesh Pareek.

Description of the suitcase

Brand – Mission
Color – Bottle Green, Trolley type
Locked.

Contents of the missing suitcase are as follows :

1. Cash – Rs.14,000 Approximately
2. Gold chain with dollar
3. Gold ear tops with jhumer
4. Gold polished necklace sets – 3 Nos.
5. Artificial jewelery
6. Multi city cheque book (Dena Bank, Mount Road, Chennai) – International Books Agency
7. Watches – 2 Nos. (Ladies and Gents)
8. Return journey ticket by train number - 2603
9. Clothes – Ladies and Gents
10. Cosmetics etc., as per our memory
The value of the above items lost is 1,00,000approximately

Sir, I humbly request your good self kindly take up this matter immediately and help me recover my hard earned belongings as soon as possible.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,

(Bhawani Shankar Purohit)
