Ours was a tour of 9 days started on 11th june 2019...3 days each at tashkent, moscow, st petersburg... The hotels which were promised at each place were all down graded from 4 star to 2 or even lower grade... We had to change two worst hotels at taskent and st petersburg... So lost 25 % of time in shifting hotels... Lost our valuable time in shifting, site seeing was secondary in our tour... Only shifting hotels and long distance traveling every time for lunch and dinner since all the hotels selected were on outskirts of each town and the restaurant was in downtown... The gem tours had earlier promised all those hotels in their brochure which were very close to their restaurants... Ours was the most mismanaged trip, with very bad food for the first two days at tashket, later on it was ok after great grilling to be done with tour guide and the cook...in fact our group of six people had done booking of hotel to discontinue from the group at st. Petersburg since gem tours had made us normads with traveling in bus with all our luggage for almost 24 hrs and we were kept in dark where we are going to check in for the night... I lost 30000/-in cancellation of my hilton booking on booking.com... When the bus took us to a remote hotel in st petersburg about 35 km from downtown at 6 pm... Our tour was a nightmare... I will advise all to take confirmation of all hotels before deciding to appoint gem tours... Or rather take a different tour company
