Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation [IRCTC] — refund on account of late arrival of connecting train. | |||||
We are ten passengers with reservation on 02/04/2018 in train no. 15159 from varanasi city to raipur jn and onward journey reserved in 17481 for journey on 03/04/2018 upto bobbili for two passengers and upto visakhapatnam for eight passengers all in 3ac. Scheduled time of arrival of 15159 is 0610. But train arrived late by more than eight hours and 17481 already departed. At raipur jn, station manager expressed inability to allow hop to next train as our ticket is booked on internet. He said he would permit only for railway counter purchased tickets. Our request for refund by irctc denied stating ticket not cancelled/tdr not filed and time exceeded. We fail to understand why passengers traveling in a train to a station from where they require to board another train to reach destination should file cancel/file tdr. What is the use of such services if passengers have to be left to fend for themselves. How can indian railways permit different provisions for counter bought tickets vis-a-vis online purchased tickets. And who will pay for the deficiency in service which has caused not only distress but extra expenditure to buy new tickets as well. I think team in irctc is not understanding our problem which must be happening everyday in this route. May i request a logical review and instruct irctc to initiate refund action. Pnr no.
