Irctc — Rats damaged luggage in First A/C | |||
Sir/Madam, My name is R. Kamesh. I had a confirmed ticket in First A/C (PNR:[protected], B-Cabin from Thane JN to Raipur JN by Mumbai-Howrah Mail (12809) on 06/19/2015. The train was delayed by about 18 hours due to rains. My experiences after the train reached Thane was nothing short of harrowing: 1. The attendant of the First A/C compartment did not even open the door in Thane. I had to get into another compartment in the heavy rain and then carry my luggage all the way into the First A/C cabin without any help. 2. Even worse, there were rats in my cabin and they did tremendous damage of my luggage and items inside it. Many items that I purchased from the USA were damaged. Also, my food items were consumed. This is completely unacceptable by First A/C standards of Indian Railways. I have taken numerous images of the damages caused with my camera and have also given a written complaint to the coach attendant. I can furnish those images if needed. For the horrible experiences and the damages, I request you to kindly issue me a monetary compensation. Please let me know if additional details are needed. R.
