ACT Fibernet — formal complaint against act fibernet for non-refund of subscription fees and unethical practices

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against ACT Fibernet, with whom I have had two internet connections for over five years. My services were abruptly terminated by ACT Fibernet on February 25th, 2024, citing issues with the communication cabinet installed near our building.

Following the disconnection, a representative from ACT Fibernet visited my residence and collected the modem, promising to refund the remaining subscription amount. I had paid for six months plus an additional two months plan for both connections, for which I am entitled to a refund.

Since then, I have made numerous attempts to recover the amount owed to me, including sending over 21 reminders to ACT Fibernet. On each occasion, a ticket was opened but subsequently closed without any resolution or communication. I have also escalated this issue to the nodal officer and appellate authorities, who opened two case IDs and assured me that the matter would be resolved within 48 hours. Unfortunately, despite these assurances, no action has been taken to date.

I am deeply concerned about the lack of response and resolution from ACT Fibernet, especially given the significant time and effort I have invested in pursuing this matter. I now have reason to believe that ACT Fibernet may be engaging in unethical practices and potentially defrauding customers.

Given the circumstances, I request the intervention of the consumer forum to investigate this matter and ensure that I receive the refund that I am entitled to. I also urge the forum to take appropriate action against ACT Fibernet to prevent other consumers from experiencing similar issues.

I am writing to escalate an ongoing issue that has been pending for several months, despite more than 25 follow-ups and regular communication with your appellate authority and nodal officers. My service request, SR No: SR[protected], has been consistently met with empty promises of resolution within 48 hours, only to be ignored time and again.

This unresolved matter has caused significant stress over the past 8 months, and it seems that both their customer service and higher authorities do not value customer concerns. The unprofessional handling of this case has led me to seek legal advice, and I am in the process of raising a consumer complaint.

I am also concerned that this may be a recurring issue for other customers, and it's disappointing to see ACT Fibernet, which I had relied on for over five years, show such disregard for its commitments. It is unacceptable that I have spent considerable time following up on a matter that should have been resolved promptly.

I hope them to take immediate action to resolve this matter and ensure this kind of customer experience is not repeated. If this issue is not resolved, I will have no choice but to take further steps to hold ACT accountable.
