Address:Adani Electricity

Dear Sir Madam.

With the reference to the subject. My Self Kedar Narvekar. & My Account no is[protected] . I have received the Adani Bill as below
Bill March 2020 :- Rs. 2040 (Meter Units-259),
Bill April 2020 :- Rs. 1890 (Meter Units :- 259)
Bill May 2020 ;- Rs 3878.93 (Meter Units :- 470)
Bill June 2020 :- Rs. 4143.41 (Meter Units :- 497)

Since March 2020 to June 2020, my meter reading is increasing day by day and while having complaint to M/s Adani Electricity, saying that we are suing such consumption. There are several following up but we are not receiving any feedback from Adani.

Also please note that last 4 years we have never cross the meter units by 380. Also please note that, the member staying at home which are working for essential services and traveling regular to office or not seating at home in lockdown. It is very impossible to use the 497 meter units in single month from my side.

Also many times i have complaint to Adani, but Adani customer care is not helping out at all and arguing that the consumption is done by user.

The most wrong things is that the Adani is not generating any ticket number on my complaint and not giving me solution for this.

Request you to please look in to this and give solution ASAP.

Regards, Kedar Narvekar

Dear Customer,

This is with reference to your email, pertaining to a billing related issue.

Due to Covid-19 precautionary directives issued by the regulator - MERC, our Customer Care Centres /Bill Payment Centres/Meter Reading/Bill Distribution / Meter testing etc which required human interface had been closed and only critical services like power supply restoration were continued with.

The above steps have been taken as directed by the regulator MERC, in the “Practice Direction” document issued on 26/03/2020. The document can be referred here: https://www.adanielectricity.com/-/media/Project/Electricity/home/Practice%20Direction_COVID-19

Accordingly, the bills for Mar & Apr 20 bills were generated on the basis of estimated consumption. Reason for the same has been explicitly mentioned in the "Important Messages" section of the bills.

Subsequently, the actual meter reading was available. The latest meter reading was collected on 08/06/2020.

Based on the meter reading collected, actual number o[censored]nits consumed between 09/03/2020 ( Reading 15799) and 08/06/2020 were calculated (Reading -17180)

However, it is not possible for us to ascertain the exact consumption in each of these months .Hence, these units have been apportioned uniformly between the 3 months (based on the number of days in each month), so that you are not charged in a higher slab in any particular month.

Based on above calculations, it was found that you were underbilled in the Mar & Apr bills. The actual units consumed during the period were 911, however you were only billed for 518 units. Hence, the payable bill amount was recalculated and the underbilled amount of Rs.3919.30 (after adjusting the previous credit) was added in the May 20 bill, generated on 13/06/2020, under the head "Net Previous Balance".

Please refer the table appended below, which explains the difference between the units billed and actual units consumed during Apr 20 & May 20:

A copy of the bill, which explains the calculation of the differential bill amount is also being attached herewith, for your reference.

Further, we confirm the receipt of the last payment made by you, for Rs.1910, against the April 2020 bill. Please refer the message printed under the “Important Messages” section of the May 20 bill, which acknowledges the receipt of this payment.

The Bill for the month of May 20 is Rs. 3878.93 for 470 units.

In this connection we wish to inform you that in response to your complaint regarding excess billing we have got the meter checked on site on 27.07.2020 to confirm the accuracy of the meter and the reading was 17979. During the inspection no apparent defects in the connection and in the functioning of the meter were observed. Generally among the residential consumers fluctuations in energy consumption are expected due to seasonal variations.

Further the possibility of the uprise might be also due to present lock down situation in which all family member stay home resulting into higher consumption compared to last year.

In case you have any additional query, please do revert upon the receipt of this e-mail.

Assuring you of our best services,

Warm Regards
Customer Service
