[Resolved]  Agarwal Packers & Movers — Compensation for breakage of my new table and refund of the deposit for boxes

We moved from Mumbai to Pune in Feb and since there were too many boxes to unpack, we did more than half of the boxes and returned them. For the rest, since we were to move in a couple of months, we were told to pay a deposit of Rs 1000 for some of the boxes we still had with us . We moved again in November and this time we returned all the boxes. Now they are making us run around to get the money. The supervisor Mr Ankit Dnkr who took the money in another person's name (Mr Shambhu Sah) from the company told us at first that he would clear it now is saying contact the company. The number they have given doesn't work. The person who took the survey Mr Ashok Sharma is not picking up our calls. We are not getting any resolution for this.

Secondly, the team who brought our stuff from Undri (Pune) to IBM Road (Pune) did not ask us if we would like to take insurance cover. When packing our dining table we told them to even put it in the original packing and they said no we are protecting it. However when transporting it from their vehicle to the house they dropped it and the glass smashed. They didnt tell us about it but insisted on a tip at the end of day one (ours was a two day shift, so two tips) and when we paid them, they then said you dont need the insurance right? So my husband asked why do i need it?? And they said no we got everything for you without damage. After he signed the paper, they showed him our brand new Urban Ladder dining table glass top extension piece smashed to bits.

They said we can ask for a compensation - but to just write it on the invoice - we have had no addressal of this complaint. Today is the 27th of Nov. Not one person has called us and we have written an email to their complaints department on the 9th Nov itself. Till today, they are making us go around in circles and not updating us about the complaint. No one picks up the phones. It took us more than a week to get the empty boxes collected, and got a response only after telling them we will keep it outside our door and let the sweepers take it away.

Why do we have to resort to desperate measures to get service? Please give us a solution for our compensation and refund.

We received a fraudulent call from a number called helpdesk and the person on the other line said they were from the Agarwal packers refund division. The name given was Vaibhav Rathod and he gave his number as [protected]. He said they were going to refund the money and also give us the compensation and all we had to do was feed in a coupon code RFC20000AZ. The fishy part was that we had to either have an ICICI account or SBI to receive the amount. When i told him i dont have either and he can pay it directly through UPI, he said please see if you can find a family or friend to receive it on your behalf. Kept calling non stop every 10 mins. Finally it was around 6:00 so he said the office closes now so we will have to continue to process the refund tomorrow. This morning he called again. in the meantime, I had alreadty passed the details to a family member. When the help desk number called again, I asked for a staff identification and he said he would send it on email. Unfortunately, my family member got in touch with the person and when he explained why he called, the person perked up. told him to type in the code on his ICICI mobile app. Immediately 20, 000 was withdrawn from his account. When i called the number he answered the phone but said we have canceled your request as our server was down. When we said questioned saying that money was withdrawn from the account. he denied it - we asked to speak to his senior - of course, it must have been his co-scamster. Please be careful.

Hi. Please only email the company complaint number. We finally got some resolution to this. Please ask for employee ids on mail and if they say only one/two bank accounts works for them please put the phone down and do not entertain them. Block the number.
