Agarwal Packers & Movers — Overcharging, misleading timelines, spoiled items, damage, and zero customer support from a reput

I am writing to formally raise a grievance regarding the extremely disappointing and unprofessional service I recently experienced while availing your relocation services from Chandigarh to Vadodara. I chose APML because of your brand reputation, trust, and assured timelines, but unfortunately my entire experience has been exactly the opposite.

Below is a detailed account of the issues I faced:

1. Incorrect Survey & Inflated Quotation
I was informed that a staff member would visit for a survey, but later it was changed to a video-call survey. I showed each and every item clearly, yet I was quoted ₹15, 960, stating my items would require 8 master cartons.
I immediately informed the customer executive that the items were not enough to require 8 cartons. After further discussion, the quotation was revised to 3 boxes for ₹7, 000. Even this was on the higher side, but I trusted APML due to your commitment of timely delivery.

2. Actual Packing Required Only ONE Box
On the day of pickup, the staff clearly told me that my items fit into ONE single box, and even after adding additional items later, the second box was not even fully filled.
Despite this, I was told I would still have to pay for all 3 boxes, which makes absolutely no sense.
As per your own policy, if the number of boxes increases, the quote is revised, so why was it not revised downward when the number of boxes decreased drastically?

This is a clear case of miscalculation, miscommunication, and overcharging.

3. Delayed Delivery Beyond Committed Timeline
I was assured a delivery timeline of 5–6 days maximum. However, my parcel was delivered on 19th November, which is far beyond the committed date.
This delay caused additional loss to me, including:
Kaccha papaya sent by my parents got completely rotten, smelling extremely bad due to late delivery.
This is not just monetary loss but emotional hurt, as these were sent with love from home.
One stationery item was delivered damaged.
Despite informing your team about the urgency of the items, I received no proper assistance during my follow-ups.

4. Financial Loss & Emotional Distress

I was charged ₹7, 000 for items that fit into barely 1–1.5 boxes, despite being quoted for 3. This incorrect estimation and refusal to revise the cost clearly indicate an internal failure.
Moreover, the delayed delivery and spoiled food items have caused stress, inconvenience, and emotional disappointment.

6. Wrong Billing: Charged for 6 Boxes Despite Using Only 1
I recently reviewed the revised quotation that was emailed to me. Although I was told the revised estimate was for 3 boxes, the document still shows 6 boxes. This means I have been charged for 6 boxes, despite:
-The packing team bringing only 3 boxes
-Only 1 box being actually used
-Even after adding extra items, the second box wasn’t filled
-My actual requirement being just 1 single box
This discrepancy reveals a serious internal error and amounts to overcharging due to false quotation details. Had I not rechecked the quotation later, I would have never known I was billed for 6 boxes.

This is not a minor clerical mistake — it directly affects the cost I paid and reflects unfair and misleading billing practices.

I expect an immediate refund of the excess amount charged for the additional boxes, which were neither brought nor used.

Request for resolution:-

1. Refund of the excess amount charged, since the actual requirement was only 1 box and even the second one was hardly half full.
2. Compensation for delayed delivery beyond the committed timeline.
3. Compensation for damage and spoiling of items caused due to delay in transit.
4. A formal acknowledgement and explanation for this entire mishandling.

I will be attaching the following documents (as requested, I can provide anything additional if needed):
1.Initial and revised quotations
2.Photographs of the boxes delivered
3.Contact numbers of survey, loading, unloading staff

I trusted APML for its professionalism and service quality, but this entire experience has been extremely disappointing. I request you to kindly look into this matter urgently and resolve it at the earliest.
