I am new in bangalore and ordered a usb cable as a trial run to check how good or bad amazon's delivery service is in bangalore. As a new resident here, i have a lot of things to buy and was considering getting an amazon prime membership as well for faster delivery.
The service has been very bad and i am seriously reconsidering ordering anything from amazon, let alone getting a prime membership.
The order was placed on tuesday 14th march 2018 and was supposed to come saturday 17th march, but was updated to come a day earlier.
When the order did not arrive, i called the delivery person (Ram septha [protected]). Apparently, he is a private individual doing delivery for amazon transportation services, and sets his own delivery boundaries, and does not deliver to my area.
I contacted customer service and was assured delivery would happen the next day.
When i contacted the delivery person today, saturday 17th march 2018, he said that he would not deliver the package and would send it back to the head office.
He also informed me that amazon's transportation services are aware of the limits that they have regarding delivery.
When i contacted customer service, i spoke with a supervisor by the name of prerna, who said that the name and number of the delivery person in the order confirmation may be wrong. I corrected her by telling her that the delivery person has confirmed he has the order and he will not deliver it.
Complaints:
1) how is it that the delivery person gets to set their own delivery boundaries and amazon have no control over it
2) if a delivery person can set their own boundaries, how does amazon assign the delivery to such a person
3) how did the customer service person i called on friday 16th march miss on mentioning this. I checked with the supervisor prerna, and none of this was mentioned
4) how does a supervisor (Prerna) say that the name and number for the amazon delivery person is incorrect in the amazon application, when the delivery person says that he has the order and will not deliver it
5) the supervisor prerna has no details of managers to escalate this to, and claims the order will be delivered by end of day today, when we already know that the order is with the wrong delivery person

Amidst all of this, the delivery person is going to get away with the inconvenience he has caused and the customer service is hiding behind the phone and email, while i am facing the inconvenience.
If amazon does not care about my inconvenience, they should at least think about the money they will get for the orders i am going to place and the amazon prime membership they could get.

I hope some in the management at amazon cares to reply and resolve this issue.
