Amazon India — Warranty issue of dell make tablet | |||||
I had purchased from Amazon, one Dell avenue 7 tablet on 21st March 2015. Amazon gave the warranty for the above item for one year from the date of purchase. I have faced problem (not working at all) with the tab during Jan.2016. I have contacted Dell customer support and they confirmed that the guarantee for the above tab expired on 24th December 2015 and their authorized service center also refused to do repair on warranty. I contacted Amazon and written various mails. They are only replying that the guarantee is up to 21st March 2016 and to contact dell for repair and they are not willing to sort out the issue. What I understood from Dell that once a product is sold out from their Dell store the sale date is registered by their distributor/dealer in their system. From this date Dell is offering one year warranty. That means the above product was sold out around 24th December 2014. Amazon rotated the above item in the market around 3 months and finally sold out to me with the new invoice on dt.21.03.2015 and the 3 months warranty has gone before it was sold to me. When I tried to do the repair at my cost, Dell service center quote app.Rs.6, 000/= for replacement of mother board which is defective. I dropped the idea of doing repair because the new one cost is app.Rs.10, 000/=. The above tab is useless after 9 months of purchase. Amazon cheated me by giving me the returned item by somebody.
