Sir/Madam
1. I have an saving bank account in Axis bank Dalhousie road branch in Pathankot. As the services were satisfactory I had opened accounts for my wife and daughter as well.
2. I alongwith my friend planned a family trip to Dubai (UAE) from 14 dec to 21Dec2021 for which Forex card was needed and on my enquiry about the same in the branch, I was assured of the flawless service and hassle free topping up either by self through axis bank app or by just giving a message or a call to the bank( The manager or dealing staff).
3. On 18 Dec 21, I wanted to top up my forex card but wasn't able to do it, so made a request to the bank. (Please See screenshots attached ). Am sorry to state that the response was very tardy n shabby to say the least. Just imagine the state of a person in a foreign country with no money and people on the other side who were making all praises of forex card and giving assurances of prompt help were least helpful and bothered. Last message "wait sir" was recieved from the manager on 20Feb2021 at 2:45pm (UAE local time) and thereafter nothing heard at all.
4. Distressed I dropped a message to to my relationship manager (RM) from ICICIBANK as I am also holding an account in this bank. Much against my inner conscious I went in for Forex card from Axis bank based on assurances by the staff that turned out to be false. Within a no time, I recieved a call from ICICIBANK RM who helped me activate my icicibank debit n credit card as a result of which I was able to meet my expenses there. I transferred money from axis account to icicibank for that.
5. In view of the above I have now decided to close all my family accounts beginning with transfer of funds as no amount of explanation etc is going to undo the mental agony and torture one had to go through, more because o[censored]nresponsive and "couldn't careless" attitude of the bank. Otherwise to my mind, this is a fit case for taking the bank to banking ombudsman/consumer court for deficiency in service, deliberately perpetrated by negative attitude and ineptitude of the staff.
