[Resolved]  Axis Bank — LIC premium payment through Axis Bank Bill Pay

I have opted to pay LIC premium through Axis Bank Bill Pay on my Axis Bank credit card.

The bill payment has been seamless for last couple of years. However in this year, for two of my policies, the bill payment happened twice - one time without late payment fee & the next time with late payment fee.

LIC confirmed that their system cannot accept two payments for the same period through their system. The first time this happened, the second payment got reverted on my credit card after a fortnight time. I am hoping that this would happen again this time.

Even if the second payment gets reverted, I am charged twice the policy payment on my credit card statement as the reversal doesn't complete within the same billing cycle.

It is sad that the Bill Pay mechanism is not able to handle such a situation & ends up troubling the end customer.

I would like the bank to give an option to not pay the duplicate payment on the credit card bill as the mistake is certainly not with the customer.
