Dear Sir / Madam,
Today I had been to Axis Bank, Dunlop branch, Kolkata to deposit a cheque (No. 072362) amount Rs. 150000 in the account of Mr Palash Kundu Axis Bank A/c. no. [protected]. At the time of depositing the cheque, I asked your official to stamp and sign the counterfoil of my deposit slip, in order to acknowledge the receipt. However, your official only stamped the counterfoil and said Axis Bank does not have the practice of signing the counterfoil. A camera is placed on the deposit box and everything is recorded there. Again I requested the official to sign the counterfoil and he refused, behaving very badly.
Now my question is, if there is a rule in Axis Bank, not to acknowledge the deposit of cheque/ draft etc, by stamping and signing on the counterfoil of the deposit slip, if they misplace my cheque, what recourse do I have?
Regards,
Puspal Kundu
