Bank Of Maharashtra — fixed deposit receipt

Updated by Shashikant R Naidu Please let me know whether the changes made with red ink on the FDR Xerox Copy is a valid FDR to claim the amount on maturity. This is done by your Officer In Charge Mr Manjeet at B T Kavade Road Branch.

On18th July and 19th July 2019. Branch B T Kavade Road, Pune SB A/c No.[protected] FDR No.[protected] Mahalaxmi Term Deposit for Rs.13195 matured on 12th July 2018. This Deposit is kept as lien for the Locker Provided to me by the Branch.Hence I have a Xerox Copy of the same which was given by the then Officer in Charge.

I went to the Branch for the Renewal of the Fixed Deposit and issuance of the new Receipt for Rs.16858/ . Also, now I am a senior citizen so the rate of interest should be applicable as for senior citizen. The Branch Officer in Charge Mr Manjeet ( Mobile No.[protected] ) refused to give me a fresh deposit instead he has make the changes on the Xerox Copy of the Receipt mentioning amount of FDR Rs.16859 Due Date 12 07 2021 and amount due on maturity Rs 20, 517 ROI 6.60 % all with Red Pen on the Xerox Copy of the FDR and has put the branch stamp and initialled and handed over to me mentioning that this is the receipt which we can give we cannot give you fresh deposit receipt. I asked him whether I should come some other time and collect the same he rudely said it is not necessary this is fair enough for you claim. In my 45 years of Banking dealings this is the first time wherein I am getting a renewal of FDR on Xerox copy with just making changes with red ink. IS THIS VALID RECEIPT I asked him for which he replied this is is the only receipt I can give you. You may keep the FDR or withdraw the same and surrender the locker too. We are not interested you first surrender the locker and then we will pay the FDR amount.

I have been banking with you since last 15 yEARS, previously I was with your Ghorpadi Branch then shifted to B T Kavade Road as the Branch is very near to my house. I have never defaulted any payment for the Locker rent since last 15 years you may check the records too. Also we were dealing with your branch but as the services were not fair enough we slowly shifted our other interest credits to SBI Branch.

Please let me know (1) Whether this FDR given by the Officer in Charge for Rs.20517 by making changes on the Xerox copy is valid (2) ROI applicable for senior citizen for 3 years
