Bata India — Defective product / Quality issue / Denial of grievance redressal

I purchased two pairs of Hush Puppies shoes from Bata India Ltd. on 22nd October (bill available).

Both pairs are extremely uncomfortable despite minimal usage:

• The black pair causes severe shoe bite and cannot be worn for more than 15–20 minutes. It has been worn fewer than five times.
• The white pair causes pain in the last toe after approximately 30 minutes of wear.

I raised this concern with Bata customer care (Complaint No. 1405665). The company acknowledged that such discomfort-related issues are sometimes considered after product evaluation even when not classified as manufacturing defects. However, my request was rejected solely on the basis of internal policy timelines, without any physical or technical product evaluation.

The complaint has now been closed by the company as a “final decision, ” leaving me with two unusable products despite minimal wear. This is unfair and does not meet reasonable consumer expectations from a comfort-focused footwear brand.

I am seeking intervention for fair grievance redressal.
