Dear sir/madam,
This is regarding a complaint for a footwear i had purchased recently.
First of all, let me inform you that i am a regular user of the ladies bata footwear, this in spite of me working for a footwear company paragon. The sandals that i have purchased for my wife all these years was from bata and the last sandal that i purchased for her, she wore it for more than 1 ½ years and even then, nothing had happened to the footwear, all these footwear that i had purchased was in the range of rs. 750 to rs. 800.
During march, i had been to the bel road bata showroom which is around 10 kms away from my house as i understood it is a big showroom with lot of collections and on 17/03/2018, i purchased a footwear costing rs. 1999 (Article - [protected], name – l20722) against invoice number cm[protected] dtd 17/03/2018.
On using the same, the insole of the sandal started to peel off within the 5th day and i went to the bel road showroom with the sandal informing that this is a damaged sandal as the insole of the sandal is peeling off from the middle and the back of both the sandals and the staff over there told that they will put gum and give where i told them that it is not fair to do this for a new sandal purchased for rs. 1999/-, but the staff over there informed that they can do only that and had also informed that if the insole again starts to peel off, they will give a replacement.
On putting the gum, within the next 1 week, the insole again gave way and started peeling off and my wife stopped using the same. As i did not get time to visit the showroom again due to my busy schedule and travelling, i again visited the showroom yesterday i. E on 04/05/2018 with the sandal and was surprised to hear from the staff that they cannot give a replacement and will do the same procedure of once again putting the gum and giving. I informed them that i cannot keep coming to the store every 5th day with this sandal for putting the gum because again if you put the gum and give, it will again come off within next 3 days.
On talking to the manager at the store and the helper boys, they informed that they cannot give a replacement as there is not sole cut or upper cut.
Sir, bata being one of the oldest footwear manufacturer of india with a big brand name, we cannot expect such kind of response for a big company like this, and this is not a small amount that i have paid for this sandal, i have paid a huge rs. 1999/- and i have been running around behind this from past 2 ½ months. As i am also working for a big footwear company paragon, i know the return policy here where if there are such complaints, without giving any trouble to the customers, the footwear is taken back and a replacement is given.
Can something be done for this, hope to get a positive reply at the earliest.
