Bharti Axa — Car insurance claim for hr20ar9751

Regarding my car insurance claim... I bought my mahindra scorpio car less than one month ago and i met with an accident on 24th july on patra, sangrur road due to the reason that bull came in front of our car and car turned upside-down 5-6 times and stopped on the service road after hitting and breaking the divider. I got stitches and injury on my right hand but my friend was saved.

We have insurance from bharti axa life insurance company, having policy no. Mhr/s6295740. When we contacted insurance company, firstly, mahindra road assistance people said that car is a total loss. Later, when car was taken to mahindra showroom, then advisor said that its not total loss as car engine was not harmed in accident.

One point to note here is that air bags of car didn’t open even after such a major accident. Car has damaged totally from every side still no air bag was opened which could have resulted in major loss also if car was not a heavy car.

When i told the agent of mahindra that why air bags were not opened and i am surely going to put complaint against it, then, he said that sir, car didn’t hit from this side thats why and later said leave all that has happened and dont put up a complaint, we in-turn will change complete shell of the car so that the strength of car is not compromised. I was agreed on his point due the satisfaction that atleast car strength will remain same as this was the biggest reason that i choose to buy mahindra car.

Then, i was asked for lots of documents, applications which i sent by whatsapp and courier for the reason of investigation by insurance company agent named mr. Anurag midhha. Later, mahindra staff said that you have to come here in-person to show spot of accident. I went all over from delhi to punjab 2-3 times with my stitched injured hand for which i was not allowed by my doctor.

From 25th july till yesterday, 18th august, which is approx. One month, they were doing only investigations and then, they called today just to inform that we will not change shell now but only we will repair it. The reason which they are giving for repair is that we will have huge loss due to cost incurred in changing complete shell. They are not concerned about the security of person sitting in car which will be compromised due to reduced strength of car which is repaired but they are more concerned about cost involved. This was very shocking for me as i was eagerly waiting to get my car back and doing all sorts of cooperation that was expected from my side.
