Bombay Hospital — Nursing staff in ICU floor 5 (indore)

I have so many things to share. Will share point wise. My experience with the 5th floor icu nursing staff is really bad and for my patient. Please keep reading.

1. Patient asked to have a word with the attendant over call, but the nurse said calls are not allowed in icu (very rudely).
On the contrary, I called in the icu to let the patient know that I won’t be able to come and meet him and they actually gave the phone to the patient and I spoke to him as well.

2. Nurse gave a spirometer to the patient, but as we already had 3 spirometers at home, we asked nurse to give it back in the pharmacy. But now it’s lying in our room unused and unpacked and we don’t even know who opened it.

3. It is very difficult to find vein for the cannula for my patient, but with no heart the nurse and brother pricked 3-4 times a day to find vein. It was like a hell in icu for my patient. Nursing staff in icu is pathetic. They have zero friendly nature and are in human.

4. I saw so many visitors visiting their patient and stayed for 20-30 mins. But when I used to visit my patient, they don’t even let me be there for more than 5 minutes.

5. At 12 in the noon, they said the room is ready for the patient to shift in. But it wasn’t ready at all. We reached at 3:30 and it was still in the process of cleaning. Why giving hopes to the patient if it wasn’t ready?

6. I wanted to be there when they were pricking to find vein on my patient to distract him and to send positivity, but the nursing staff sent me outside. The patient himself asked the nurse to let me stay, but they said, wait outside!

Well, the doctors are really good, but another level of things going on in the icu with patients.
